  1. Doesnt matter if Im driving or parked, the unit will reboot itself. If playing radio, it will stop for a second, but immediately resume while the unit continues booting up. Every time it does this it will forget its maps and custom screens (background and load up). The problem seems to have gotten worse as it seems to do this every 30 minutes or so. So far the only things connect to it are: ipod bluetooth gps antenna rearview camera 2 front component speakers 2 rear speakers a/v in (just wires, no device) I had noticed that for a while my bluetooth wouldnt connect like it normall
  2. I could always remove the navi disc and when it went to memory mode, it would remember a 10 mile radius from my house. I could listen to a CDR of mp3s and when I left the range, it would zoom out and show all of Dallas Ft Worth. Well, after having it unplugged, that's all it will show on memory mode. It remembers my house. I even reset it hopping that it would tell the unit to learn. I tried unplugging it again. I drove around with the navi disc and even sat parked for a while, but now when it goes to memory mode, it won't even show DFW. It just shows my house, no streets, and grayne
  3. Seriously, what kind of thread is this?!? It would be hilarious if you broke it on purpose, and they denied you another because you voided your warranty. Besides, I am a little confused about this scam. If you want them to replace your D3 with another one, I am assuming that something is ALREADY wrong with the one you have, thus should qualify for repairs/replacement. Or are you assuming that since they no longer carry the D3, they would upgrade you to whatever new model they have in stock?
  4. I recently upgraded to a used D3 since my used D1 is complete crap. It will read CDs and DVDs fine, but when I insert my burned west disc (some 08 version) which had always worked in the D1, I get a "read error." I just burned the latest software release and still get the same result. I dug up the old 2005 factory EAST disc (when West is actually needed) just to see. It reads the format and does not give me the "read error." But it still says "please insert appropriate disc," and black nothing. I thought that with the east disc I could at least set my clock. I dont want to spend a fortune on f
  5. It's now been 5 months and the problem still exists. It seems to be worse now. It works 40% of the time and I don't even bother with the navigation since it constantly is in fly-by mode (it's even wondered into other states!) is there a moisture problem? An electrical problem? The battery has been disconnected several time since my last reply.
  6. Well now its working. Ive already mentioned that I tried restarting the car and it still not working. Well so far Ive started the car 3 times after I made my thread and its worked. I'm still a little worried though. If it failed me once (twice) it may fail again.
  7. About a month ago the target icon on my map would start to wonder. Id just be driving, and it would think I hit something, despite both hands on the wheel, and fly over places. I figured the screen was just dirty. Eventually it got to where when I pressed buttons, it would recognize, and assumed I touched somewhere else on the map. Again, I just thought it was dirty. Today Im driving home from work (had no problems with it at all earlier today) but I cant exit out of the "do not operate while moving warning screen." Normally, Id just hit "ok" and view the map, but it wouldnt recognize me h
  8. Does your ipod get real hot when connected? Mine sure does. Both my 2nd gen nano and first gen mini. Im afraid to leave them plugged in because it might get damaged. Everything else works though.
  9. I'll go you one better, I'd guess he never moved that extra wire. If I understand correctly, in the early D1's you could get by with only grounding the parking brake wire. The update probably enabled the GPS/VSS thing that you have to bypass with the service mode wire (moving the phone mute wire to the empty power pin.) Something in his answers made me think he didn't understand the question when someone asked if the wire he moved was still connected at both ends.
  10. OMG It worked! Thank you so much! You're awesome. I was actually worried I would have to remove the head unit. The steps were a little different for the D1, but pretty much the same
  11. I do infact have two external amps. I will try to see if this solves the problem. Thank you so much!! I have asked so many people for help (threads, emails, phone calls), and this is the first sane answer I have heard. I mean, it totally blew my mind. How could it be damaged, or wired wrong if I get audio through the radio? Hopefully this will fix it.
  12. I recently purchased an Avic-d1 and a CD-IB100II. I just assume the ipod adapter was broken because I could never hear songs, even though I knew it was reading them. Plus the buttons dont make the same beeping noise when pressed as when in radio mode. Well today I inserted a CD-R filled with mp3s. It read all the songs and plays them, but no audio, not even when you touch the buttons. It cant be a wiring issue because in radio mode I can hear music and the button noise. Whats the deal? I havent been able to test the navi features yet, hopefully, that gets audio.
  13. If you are in the west region, and you insert the east region disk (which does not overlap into your state) What will the screen say and look like? I just want to make sure my unit isnt damaged. I assumed there was no navi disk because it kept telling me to insert the appropriate disk, never spit one out, and also felt odd when I tried to enter a burned one. This was because there was in fact a disk after all. It just cant eject it (makes a loud noise before giving up) Anyway you can pull it out if you have tweezers or long nails. The factory disk is badly scratched up, but I would assume
  14. I recently purchased and installed an avic-d1 and a cd-ib100ii. When I try to play my ipod the avic-d1 just starts going through songs from "ipod0001" to ipod0356" and on forever, although sometimes it repeats itself by starting all over. It just seems to keep counting higher and higher but never actually plays a song ever. Every second the number changes, and sometimes even every half second. I know its reading my ipod because it sees my playlists and titles the lists correctly, but even playlists that only have 10 songs in it, it will still count on "ipod0045" and so on. Also, typically
