  1. make sure the pin for the mute wire is fully secured in the new slot
  2. np.....another thing u can do, insteada buyin a z2, is buy a z1, and then buy a z3 hard drive.....thats what i did and u get a z3 for half the cost, and its 2 wire bypassable....none of that updating programs bullshit
  3. not to be a buzzkill, but a good portion of this forum is dedicated to finding ways to bypass pioneers units...im sure pioneer caught on and fixed the wire method for the F so it may be almost impossible to bypass it. You are a BUZZKILL!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha Ohwell im sure with time someone with find some type of program or wiring change which would override their design. Its all a matter of time. Trial and eror an famous philosopher once said. Especially with this new flash card and they way technology is, im sure there is some computer guru which will be able to figure it out. ha
  4. whtcrxghst, can any iso burner work? i never did an update but i used nero to upload backgrounds on there.
  5. i have a z1 and my gps is very accurate. jus the bluetooth sux because i have the adaptor mounted under my center console panel
  6. its very simple. the VW harness is used for your main wires. power, ground, speakers, etc....the harness that HiFiSi is talking about is one that came with your d3 and plugs into the 2nd connector on the deck....it has absolutely nothing to do with the car. the mute wire is the black and yellow wire on there
  7. i have the same problem with my env....it connects and disconnects all the time, and the person on the other end cant hear me. as for your connection, disconnect it from the chassis and splice it to the ground wire in the harness....its no different as far as grounding and its 100% sure that its being grounded. and double, triple, even quadruple check that mute wire, since that seems to be the main reason the bypasses dont work properly. and if it is secured in, check the pin on the d3...seems unlikely that something happened to it, but u hafta think logically...if your parking brake and mute
  8. dont worry about it, $incere. Im sure you have the ad that advertised the avics and you have his personal information...youll get your money back.. back in november, my sisters bf (brian) met this guy on a galant forum who claimed to be selling z2's for $700 a piece. this was back when they were sold for like 1500 at least. he placed an order for 4 of them. 2800 right to this guy....you know what the guy sent? a fucking piece of paper with brians address written on it. but he ended up getting his money back from the guy.
  9. u can get a z2 for 800-1000 on ebay depending what deal you find. a z3 isnt much more than 1080 + tax. cancel the order and shop around

  11. an aftermarket unit offers so much more than a stock unit in every aspect. audio wise, instead of only bein able to tunr from -6 to +6 for fade balance bass and treb, you can fine tune every sound. they look much nicer (mostly ) not all stock units are mp3 player ready, but almost all aftermarket units are....stock units dont have av outputs to add a system or tv's. the list of reasons goes on man. personally i jus dont like my car having that stock feeling...and the first thing that make it look stock to me, is the factory radio....
  12. avic z3....it may not have every single thing you want but its alot closer than the F. and you can do a simple bypass for doing nav fuctions while your driving.....o and watch movies
  13. didnt think of it that way....valid point
  14. well if you dont have the space u hafta make the space.

  16. Well that's sure what it sounded like to me... no thats exactly what i meant, but i didnt mean so that they put it bak on the shelves, i meant so theres no chance they can refuse to take it bak. yes it would be a dick move to put it on an unknowing customer like that but i have had problems with circuit city and opened items not bein refunded so i threw that out there to avoid that conflict
  17. 1. of course its worth it 2. depends on your budget. if your pockets are deep and can go dynaudio, MB Quart, Boston Acoustic, go for it. If you cant afford $800 a set ( i sure as hell cant ) alpine, infinity, theyre good too. just make sure theyre component speakers.
  18. agreed. if anything, buy a wiring harness and connect your wires to that so you dont screw up the wires in the car. itll tell you on the harness' package what each color is and your installation manual says it too. just match em up you cant possibly go wrong that way
  19. open the panel and measure the amount of space....u need roughly 7 1/2" x 4". and if you dont have that im sure you can take a dremil or a grinder (any cutting tool down those lines) and trim back as necessary....assuming you heard correct of course.
  20. Thank you for everything, connect the wires as is detailed in this post. Before reading this post, I had done ta bypass, as is the same as for other units as alpine. The problem is that it works, but when it takes some time turn on the Z2 and I said "you have done a connections of the handbrake and blah blah .... ceases to operate ..." ya your bypass isnt hooked up correctly. if you only hooked up the green wire, then you only did half the job. you hafta move the pin for the black n yellow wire and ground that out with the green wire. if you already did the black and yellow wire, then yo
  21. jus be careful. you dont want the wrong person finding out about what u have. alotta my friends have lost $2k to $6k systems because they were brought too much attention on themselves
  22. not really guy, because even tho its "new", its still opened. and best buy doesnt put open items back on the shelves so really he'd be sticking it to the company who he feels stuck it to him. take your retarded comments somewhere else yes they do, its called an "open item". yes. in an open item section. so the consumer is aware that it is not brand new....for them to sell an opened item like that as if its never been touched is fraudelent and false advertising nand if the consumer found out he bought a used deck for the same price as the new, probably, in todays world, thered be a bi
  23. before you buy anything, how much are the new maps?
  24. not really guy, because even tho its "new", its still opened. and best buy doesnt put open items back on the shelves so really he'd be sticking it to the company who he feels stuck it to him. take your retarded comments somewhere else No. If he were to HONESTLY return it to them, he wouldn't get all his money back because they would charge a restocking fee because the item was open, and in turn, somebody else would get a deal by being able to buy it as an open box item. By attempting to pass the unit off as unused/uninstalled/unopened to receive a full refund, he's not "sticking it"
