  1. Thanks, I appreciate the quick response. My iPod only has like 1000 songs on it and I do have iTunes match, so I could use my phone. The catch for me is that the Classic has ~600 Music Videos on it. I could handle switching back and forth for that function, as well as using my phone for hands free. I'm just not sure if AppRadio can play a video from a Classic. I know it can from an iOS device. I think what will likely happen, is I will end up using my phone paired with Vevo for Music Videos. I still have unlimited data from AT&T so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
  2. I have searched and searched but I am unable to find an answer to this question: Does the AppRadio 2 allow an iPod Classic to be connected and usable, while an iPhone(or iPod Touch) is connected? Pioneer's website says that an iPod Classic is compatible, but it doesn't say anything about having 2 devices connected at once. I sent the question to Pioneer and they sent me this Basically, they couldn't answer a simple question. I'd appreciate it if someone could answer this for me. Thanks.
  3. Again, I've looked at all that. It does not list a single pin location, which is what I am in need of. Standard installation I can do, but this isn't a standard installation. I need the pin locations on the harnesses that come with the D3(The RCA and Power Harnesses). In order for that document to become even a bit useful I need to know the pin locations for each wire.
  4. I tried all of that but nothing I can find can tell me the pin positions on either harness. And that's what I really need, otherwise I'm going to have to buy a new set.
  5. Okay so the other day my sub stopped working. It was fading in and out for a few days and then suddenly stopped. I narrowed the problem down to the wiring. My D3 came with a bad harness so I've been using the power wire rather than the signal wire. but after poking around and seeing some loose wires I'm not entirely sure the pins are back in the correct positions so: Question #1: Does anyone know of or have a wire diagram for the D3 harness. I'd like to know the color and position of each wire, if possible. If I can't get the signal wire to work again(or some variety of it) I'd li
  6. Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to get an aftermarket head unit? Didn't like stock? Stock went bad? Wanted something new? Wanted something custom? Something else? As for me: I got an Alpine headunit because my stock was literally skipping, just because I'd be going up a hill. It sounded really good for stock, with a nice interface, but it was just too annoying to not switch. I then made the move to the AVIC-D3 in February because I was going on a long trip and needed GPS. Originally I was going to get a portable device, but I found an authorized dealer selling it
  7. It's on the metal behind the dash. It's the same spot I used to ground my other 4 aftermarkets, and stock headunit.
  8. I've had my D3 for quite some time now, and as a unit I love it. I originally had it installed in a 2001 Honda Accord. It was in there for about 3 weeks and I didn't have any problems. I have since moved it into a 97 Maxima. Occasionally(every 10-16 days) the unit won't start when I turn the car on. To fix it I either have to wait and let the the thing going itself, or open up the dash and "shake" some wire. This has been happening since mid-March, so a few weeks ago, I thought maybe there was too much behind the dash and it was over heating. So I went in shortened up the wires, tighte
  9. Well, if I were you I'd get the D3. The reason for me is pretty simple. The D3 does what the D2 does and more. Yes it's $150 more, but you get the newer maps, which themselves end up making it a better value and you get to save $100, assuming you do indeed get the new maps if you buy the D2.
  10. I would guess this because I've blown three fuses already since I got my D3 in late february
  11. You dont need to connect the parking brake wire to the harness. You should take the Parking Brake Wire(Green) and ground it with your moved Mute Wire(Yellow with Black Stripe), while each is only connected to the D3. It should Go Like This: AVIC-D3 l l l l l V l Moved Mute Wire---------- l l V l Parking Brake Wire---------V l l V Ground
  12. I've had my D3 in 2 cars and I haven't used the cage or brackets in either install. But thats just me.
  13. I actually saw one at my local Best Buy for $20. It's been there since January atleast. So I'd check your Best Buy if I was you.
  14. Over the past week or so I've been looking at redoing my car audio/video system. I've had the D3 since February, but I'm just one of those people that always wants to do something else. Sometimes its good, sometimes its bad, but thats neither here nor there. After some research, I was on the verge of building a carputer. Basically I wanted to have a massive harddrive for all my media in the car. But, the further I dove into the carputer world, I realized I was thinking of more questions, and things seemed to become increasingly difficult. During this period I listed my AVIC-D3 with iP

Mine is connected to the yellow wire on my stock radio harness. It can be there, it can be connected through another unit like an XM or Sirius box, or can even be wired directly to the car battery itself. There are a number of places your could be depending on your install. If I were you I would just find your box and follow the wire to were ever it leads, then connect it to the closest power wire.
