  1. Great, that's exactly the info I was looking for. I'm going to try the alcohol cleaning method first and if that doesn't fix it, I'll use two dabs of glue as suggested. Worst case, I now know where I can order a new knob and/or a remote. Thanks!

    Sounds great, as long as most/all of the critical functionality is retained. At a minimum, I'd want to be able to search, post new topics, reply and use emoticons, of course!

  4. Hi Guys- I'm back on the forum after a bit of an absence. I was registered with a different name before, but can't remember my login details. Anyway, I installed my D3 about a year ago and have enjoyed it. Recently, though, the rubber ring around the volume knob has come loose and spins freely without actually turning the volume knob. In order to change volume, I have to grasp or pinch the rubber ring on the volume knob firmly between my thumb and index finger and squeeze it together. Needless to say, it's a pain in the *ss to have to firmly pinch the volume knob every time I want to
