  1. Do calls from the 3200bt work okay? Can you answer using the 3200bt?
  2. Please stop. He didn't do any of that, he was just musing what's possible with test mode. You still have to get over the complication of actually writing to the system. Which he didn't. You want to shut me up? Take a picture of you running winamp for WinCE or any other CE5.0 application. Until then, please just stop. Also, CatchMeIfYouCan631 I've already pointed this out once before, I did just that. I put in my SD card, copied the files from the AVIC to the SD, but the reverse is not possible yet. you dont have to bold your words i read what you wrote the first time. and secondly not onc

  4. Again, you seem to be missing the point, you can't delete. Once you take a copy of the file system on your card you can do whatever you want to it, but you can't (at least for now) get it back onto the system. *sigh*
  5. ...I already wrote this in teh FIRST post of the thread: "I used this to copy and back up my f90bt's file system onto my sd card."
  6. Yes, obviously with the update last night I know they can be written to. I even specifically without using their Flash ROM writer all you can do is pull stuff off the flash, not write to it. Please reread my comment above Have you tried? Not that I would recommend modifying the system, but I have a hard time believe that it is not writeable. It is no more Read Only than the SD card you insert for the update. They are all Flash ROMs. It shows up in My Computer as a standard drive from what I recall. How about this. How about YOU try. You're missing the point and getting hun
  7. Yeah, I specifically made mention of the files used in the last steps... and you can't boot into test mode without using those steps so...
  8. Some of us don't have the option. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=109095
  9. In the \Windows directory there's a bunch more files I have to peek at again but I remember seeing something called "IpodJudge" couldn't find any info on that. Good info GnatGoSplat, I'm coming from GPS hacking myself on the Navigon systems, and only started getting into shell replacements, feature hack-ins, etc. Hopefully we'll be able to achieve something along the lines of that. gpspassion.com is a great resource for general CE stuff, and I think one of the first things I'm going to try is a TTS replacement.

  11. ...that's what this thread is for.
  12. It is an ARM. You can find the CPU model from the system control panel in "test mode". As for now, since it's all locked down behind a ROM-area you can't change anything... just copy & view what's on the filesystem. See the hacking forum for more info.
  13. No, but there's a software keyboard that you can access by clicking the icon on the bottom right. That way you can rename, make new folders, etc. only on your SD card. The flash disk is ROM only.
  14. Here's an info thread that might help other people out by knowing what to look for. By going through the filesystem in "test mode" (using the testmode folder from the latest update), I've found 3rd-party software that Pioneer is using in order to put together the AVIC. Some and maybe even most of the problems that we're facing on the AVIC might not be Pioneer-related at all... Here's a list of what I've found so far: Navigation Software: I-go http://www.i-go.com/en/ and/or Mitac Mio: http://www.mio.com/ TTS Software: RealSpeakSolo http://www.nuance.com/realspeak/solo/
  15. One thing to remember is that the entire file system is held in ROM, so you can't change it. If you remember the update procedure, there's that weird white and then blue screen where it's actually rewriting the rom. You can't just copy/paste files TO the flash disk, although you can copy from it. So at least for now, don't worry about breaking or bricking your AVIC.
  16. These are where the map & corresponding POI files are. Could someone in Canada and someone in the UK please write up what they have? For US, we have: 01/18/2008 03:04 PM 5,546,103 Basemap.fbl 04/02/2008 05:13 PM 45,367,642 Canada.fbl 04/02/2008 05:13 PM 16,642,752 USA_Alabama.fbl 04/02/2008 05:14 PM 4,510,630 USA_Alaska.fbl 04/02/2008 05:16 PM 20,028,683 USA_Arizona.fbl 04/02/2008 05:19 PM 13,727,874 USA_Arkansas.fbl 04/02/2008 05:23 PM 56,496,586 USA_California.fbl 04/02/2008 05:21 PM 16,856,099 USA_Colorado.fbl 04/02
  17. it's weird because in "test mode" under: \My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\CONTENT\VOICE\ I have 6 files: voice_eng-us-m1.zip voice_esp-mex-f1.zip voice_fra-f31.zip these are the only choices I have for voice... I also have these three which are the same as the update's \MiTACAP\APL2\iGo\content\voice folder: voice_tts-nua-eng-us-f1.zip voice_tts-nua-esp-f1.zip voice_tts-nua-fra-can-f1.zip I'm assuming these are the new TTS voices that I never had as an option, and still don't. They're in the folder, they should be read and it should be available to me as an option, but it's not.
  18. They forgot to mention in the update walkthrough that leaving the test mode folder on the sd card keeps booting you into windows ce. I used this to copy and back up my f90bt's file system onto my sd card. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out why my TTS doesn't work, as well as maybe figure out where the graphic icons lay so I can stick my car onto the GPS map. Other more adventureous members with CE experience might want to poke around further.
  19. In one of the control panels, I think it's the system control panel, it says my unit is an F700 when I have an F90BT. I have 3d buildings, and the front does indeed say Premiere instead of Pioneer, so I'm hoping I have the F90bt instead of the f900bt. I know I don't have the f700bt because I play DVDs fine. Weird.
  20. With latest update, I still have NO TTS choices, just three choices, Jason, Esperanza, and some french choice (forget the name).
  21. ...at least you have the option, ever since day 1 I haven't had TTS: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16073 I just installed the update, and still my only choices are Jason, Esperanza and the French non-TTS one. *sigh*
  22. First up would be a step-by-step process on how to "force" a new update when we're not updating version #'s, just updating graphics. I have no interest in mucking up the actual brains of the product, although GPS route recalculations, etc. could be done through .ini hacks...
  23. Currently running through the various images in: \LPUE080\APL2\iGo\data.zip\ of the update. Looks like that's where most of the images reside, but the directory tree is very unkempt, and a lot of the .bmp's aren't standard .bmp. I can't get them to open in ACDSee nor Photoshop. Other thing is that the .mdl and .spr files don't seem to be standard .mdl (3d wireframe models) and .spr (sprite) files. Now that we have something to play with... let's start!
