  1. I had this same issue with my Z110bt unit and PAC steering control. It started the same way your issue started but then it got progressively worst where, the down volume wouldn't work but the up volume would. I took it to an installer and they resolved the issue (PAC needed re-programming for some strange reason.) When they re-programmed it, they programmed it for the ipod and my skip ahead presets on headset radio and sirius xm wasn't working. Took it back and they reset it to my preference and I'm all set now. Take it back to the installer, they should be able to set it to your prefe
  2. So I took my car back to Mobile Addictions on Saturday and the third time was the charm. They were able to get everything working. No parking brake warning on startup, DVD plays while car is in motion, PAC steering controls now work for bluetooth and radio presets. The cause of the bypass issue - Although the mute wire was moved over and grounded, the cable wasn't secured to the pin. Once they took the HU out to further inspect it, they saw the cause of the problem. Which is what I have been saying from day one. Anyway, it took two months but its fixed finally, and I am happy.
  3. You are right VBlue. I was referring to adjusting the volume while on a call. I changed my setting to mute, so now the radio/iPod gets muted when I am on the phone or when the unit is giving turn by turn directions.
  4. Hi James, Thanks for joining the forum. I actually sent you an email this morning after I had a discussion with Derek at MAC Auto. As I told you on Sat. this is where I got all my info on the head unit and how to address the various issues. As for my BS comment, hey if 20 + guys are saying this is how to resolve such and such issue and one guy is telling me, nah that can't be done. Then yeah I will think that one guy is BSing me. I do not subscribe to the theory of the customer is always right, customers can most definitely be wrong at times. We are all just human, right. The fact
  5. The installer I used to get my Z110 put in came highly recommended from a BMW forum. I listed the issues in other threads of what wasn't working after the first install. I took it back again today to get the issues fixed. After 5.5 hrs the speedpulse still doesn't work, the parking brake caution still comes on, I can't answer calls using the PAC steering wheel controls. I can't lower the volume of the radio when I am on a phone call. I printed out the threads from here explaining what needs to be done to get the unit to work properly. They claim that they have never gotten the speedpul
  6. I printed out the bypass instructions from the thread, along with the pic and gave it to the installer, along with the checklist the other member posted. As for what went wrong, can't say. The bypass seemed pretty straight forward, but as evident in several posts on the board, people blotch it somehow. All my issues seems to point to loose connections or improper wiring. Hopefully it can all be corrected soon. Thanks for the information.
  7. I think my installer did a messed up job with my installation. Now this isn't a fly by night installation shop, I did my research. They came highly recommended from a BMW forum that I am a member of, they have done countless number of installs for the Z110, they actually had two other cars there in the shop that were getting the same unit installed. I have had the unit installed for two weeks and from the various threads in this forum, the issue points to installation errors and not the unit. I plan on going back to them next week but I wanted to run my issues by you guys. 1. Speedpuls
  8. Thanks Vblue, I needed this info as well.
  9. Thanks, I figured as much because I am also losing my channels presets whenever I turn the car off. I'll have the installer look at it.
  10. I am having the same issue with my radio presets. If the car is turned off for an extended period, I lose all my presets.
  11. I got my z110 installed this week. I went to pick up a friend and I turned the engine off while I was waiting, the unit immediately shut down as well. Usually the car radio is still operational when you turn the engine off in the car. Can this be done with the 110?
  12. I purchased a spec.dock from http://www.2point5.com/. The dock comes with the iPod cable connected to it and it plugs directly into the z110 and that's it, nothing else is required. It charges too. I have a pdf of the installation for the spec.dock and it has pics. I can email that to you if you like. The spec.dock is a bit pricy but its a very clean and ideal location and it doesn't require you to purchase the Pioneer cable separately. I purchased the Pioneer cable before I got the spec.dock and I didn't need it. So I have brand new, unopened Pioneer cable to sell if anyone is interes
  13. Some pics of the installation process and the final product. Process took about 6 hrs. They had to run the wires to the trunk where the amp was installed. Items installed: Metra Harness Z110BT XM Sat. Radio PAC steering iPod Spec dock Bozo Backup camera
  14. I've been following your trails and tribulations on this issue through your posts. Glad you got it finally sorted out. Congrats.
  15. I purchased mine from WooferETC and it has the 1.6.8 sticker on it.
  16. I recently ordered mine on Amazon from WoofersEtc and it has the 1.68 sticker on the side of it. I ordered it from there because their ad guaranteed the latest version. If they had sent me v. 1.67 I had planned on calling them to test that guarantee but there was no need.
  17. Hi Ebello, You said you took the specdock apart so you can use the Pioneer CD-IU50V cable. So what was left of the specdock? Just the base and the insert? I see you are in NYC. Did you do the AVIC install yourself or took it to a shop? I'm in Brooklyn and I am looking for a reputable installer to install my Z110.
  18. Let us know if Pioneer honored the $200 rebate for buying from 6th Ave through Amazon. I just received mine today and the invoice inside the box was directly from 6 Ave with no reference to Amazon at all. To Pioneer it looks like you ordered directly from 6 Ave. Same here Steve. Mine is a 6th Ave invoice. No reference to Amazon.
  19. Thank you Mazda_3. I don't mind losing those. I don't have the PDC in my car and I find the seatbelt warning highly annoying, the clicking of the signal indicator too. I haven't heard any of the other chimes yet but I don't think I will miss them too much. As long as I don't lose the OBC, I think I'll be happy.
  20. I just purchased my Z110 from 6th Ave through Amazon.com for $933 with free shipping. 6th Ave's website still has it for $1599. I am hoping that Pioneer will honor the rebate. Amazon said it is being shipped from 6th Ave. $733 for a Z110......Sweeeeeet!!!!!
  21. Ebay. There's a reason why I mounted the radio on the bottom: I didn't want to cut up my dash & climate controls. No. OBC works without the stock radio. But I did relocate the radio to the trunk to retain chimes and PDC. You will have to excuse me if all my questions seem to be on the ignorant side, I am really not savvy when it comes to car tech but I am looking to become educated enough for when I take it into the installer shop and for personal maintenance going forward. Can you please explain the not wanting to cut up the dash and climate control. I saw the Connect2 and Met
  22. Thanks Vblue. I did see that in the threads. I am looking to make the purchase through Amazon and I haven't been able to find one that lists the version. Still looking though.
  23. I found the info I wanted on Pac's website. The SWI-CAN2 is required for the BMWs.
