  1. Come on, shouldn't this go in the General section??
  2. Nope, you must be doing something wrong. Make sure the data.zip is going in the right folder first. Rename the original data.zip something else and leave it in the AVIC as a "just in case". Drag the modded one where the renamed data.zip is.
  3. Hah, I'm in the East Valley bud. I don't know if you could pay me enough to install this thing again though. What kind of car and is it double-din opening?
  4. Most of your questions have been answered a bunch of times, man. The bypass is in the mods/hacks area, there are 800 threads on the boot time issue, there is no multi-zone on the F series, and your equipment looks good. Obviously you want a wire harness for your car too.
  5. Haha awesome! Yes "HOW-TO" this bad boy please!
  6. A ps3 connected to a 5" screen? That's about useless as a screen door on a battleship.
  7. Interesting. I had one double entry, I'll try it. Do you think its just exact duplicate entries, was it ok if you had one entry "Mike" and another "Mike Cell"?
  8. Man if this could be corrected, that ends the majority of people's complaints with the nav. I'm going to start playing around and see what I can find.
  9. Just use the same visiblemodel, but put a ! infront of the variable. In other words: visiblemodel="navigation.distance_to_manuver.valid" means it is visible when you are navigating, but visiblemodel="!navigation.distance_to_manuver.valid" means it is visible when you are *not* navigating. Cheers! I can get rid of the box itself, but not the text inside it, can anyone tell me where that is and where to put the visiblemodel in?
  10. Yes, very sick. Like pneumonia mixed with some AIDS and a dash of typhoid fever sick.
  11. Hammer drill. It's not the phone's fault I'm sure of it.
  12. Here's the one I think I'll use for awhile.
  13. We don't know. The first thing we will have to see is what changes they made by examining the update files...and see if its even worth applying. The update was released in Europe. One member who updated it said the boot time was reduced to about 30 seconds full boot. A lot of members will find that reason alone to be a reason to update theirs Well that's my point. We have to examine the update files first to see if it will affect any modding we've done...no point in looking the EU files they might be different.

  15. Here the steps: On your AVIC you have to get into testmode (the Windows screen). Do that by putting the testmode and MitaCap folders on your SD card. Use the stylus and triple-click on any folders. When you are there, hit start, go into Windows Explorer, then "My flash disk", then "iGo", then "APL2". In there, there is a file called simply "DATA" with a generic windows icon. THAT is the key file where most of these changes are being made. Either copy that file to your SD card (open up another Windows Explorer box) and click on your SD card, OR use one of the ones we have posted in the thre
  16. Newbies to doing this, read this part! It took me a bit to figure out exactly how to put it all together. Stephanie, I can't get the clock to go into the very corner of the screen like yours, I tried y=5 but it moved it way down for some reason. What y coordinate do you have yours at? Thanks!
  17. Getting the same thing with my 8830. Here's the weird thing...before I had put any of my contacts into a category, I had no connection problems (except for slow to connect on startup). Then I categorized some contacts and began getting the connection dropouts. I took out all categories, but now am still getting the problem. Ugh.
  18. true, but you can't control them and have to wait a bit longer before the volume knob and other controls are becoming active. so turn your volume down before you stall your car if you don't want to wake up your neighbours the next day in the early morning. Volume is changeable almost immediately upon startup with AV sources.
  19. Umm...well the important thing is you tried, son.
  20. Maybe try these...are those dots making up the letters? If so "LCD DOT" toward the bottom might be close http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=302
  21. Thanks for the tip on removing the zoom level Stephanie, it worked and hasn't come back so far although I only changed it in a couple files. I'd like to remove the time boxes but I like having them when I plot a route... I also found another good font site...this one is cool because you can preview whatever street you want if you plug it in and see what it will look like. http://www.dafont.com/
  22. I don't like the factory beeps so I replaced them with less annoying sounds. The silence is nice but I kinda like having some sort of effect. There's plenty of .wav files you can find on the net that make it sound much nicer!
