  1. That would be correct, sound like the exact same disk.
  2. Nope not having any of the issues you described. Crisp clean video on both my deck and rear screens, during IPOD playback, or DVD playback. I can play DVD to rear screens while using NAV in the front, disappointed there was no option to play IPOD video to back only. System functions pretty much exactly as advertised. What software version are you trying to load on the system?

    Harddrive

I have all my books on CD on a IPOD classic and it works like a charm on the N4. You can even setup playlists if the chapters don't play in the correct order on the IPOD. When traveling I never have to remove the Nav CD for anything. In addition, the IPOD Classic will allow video so I also have about two dozen different movies on their in MP4 format that can be accessed like a media library. IPOD is definitely the way to go instead of a harddrive. 80 gig IPOD will hold more music, books on disc and movies than you could watch in a month of continous listening.
  4. I have an N4 installed with Ipod, Bluetooth, USB, HD stereo, rear camera, satellite and rear screens for the kids and never has the quality been anything but excellent. The only issue I ever had was with the first rear view camera, after the first rain it got water in it. Had it replaced with a unit advertised as waterproof and not an issue since. The N4 is quite a nice device and I would be highly suspicious of the installer if you have been through 3 devices.
  5. I have N4 with IPod cable and can use music, video and audiobooks no problem without anything else. The one thing I have not been able to figure out yet is how to allow the kids to watch a movie from the Ipod in the back and listen to satellite radio in the front. I know it can be done with a DVD but not been able to do it with Ipod movie.
  6. I have HD radio connected to N4, it accesed through EXT1. The interface is similair to the tuner built in to the N4 except for the F keys. In my opinion the HD radio tuner is better than the built in tuner even for non HD radio stations. I added a antenna splitter to be able to use both functions.
