  1. I have made my contribution, who do you think found the software hack for the speed sensor, so people did not have to go modifying their harnesses. Yo, THIS guy. Wow you found a value in an ini file... good job there big guy. I meant thanks to the great contribution with this thread... all I see is whining and no discussion as to what lead you to post this. The search might help you. This is my final thread, after all this crap I have put up with I am entitled. And I will point out YOUR contribution to this thread is no better. Thanks. No more discussing this with you.
  2. I found it lying on the side of the road, and offered it a ride home, hehe.
  3. Why don't you send this E mail to Pioneer if you want them to know what you think. I felt the same way about kenwood after installing two faulty DNX5420's one had a blue tooth fault and the other would not load or eject DVD RW disks without the drive motor stalling and leaving the disk stuck. The kenwood UI is poor and the garmin maps looked like they were made by a kid let loose with coloured pens, the good points are that the display is crisper and the Video picture quality is much better as is the audio quality, overall after going back to a F900Bt I appreciate how much better i
  4. It sucks, I am selling it this weekend. If anyone wants one with the version 3.0 software, and XM box, and a 2Gb SD card - and an apple ipod cable, PM me.
  5. Wow, good way to make points about what you dont like or issues you have had. Thanks for the quality post and contributing to this community! I dont see what is to hate in 3.0.... I have listed my problems with it over and over. The ONE fix that they wanted me to pay 120 bucks for was that the buttons are faster, and that was MICROSOFT'S fix! They hadnt fixed squat. Worst customer service ever. The second time I booted it up, by the way, it started trying to take me to some random location!!! So I have determined THAT bug isn't fixed. And that was one I didnt think I would s

  7. I installed 3.0. After rigorous testing I have determined that I hate this fucking deck. It has made me miserable. I am pulling it out this weekend and selling it for whatever I can get. Fuck you Pioneer, you have lost a potentially great customer for life. Thanks to all you guys on the forum, most of you are pretty cool, and try to be helpful, keep up the good work, and have fun without me. Maybe I will try to start up a Kenwood forum Eat a dick Pioneer. And you wanted me to pay 60, or 120 bucks for this.
  8. Well maybe he made enough money that it was worth the 1000 bucks or whatever just to take his frustration out on it. And yes, I suppose there could have been a more mature way to deal with it, but its a good example of how frustrating this can be.
  9. How Childish... Doesn't seem too childish to me, it was not smart, since he probably could have easily returned it. But the system is awful, and I have been tempted more than once to do that.
  10. ....funny, as I did not think we were "the average consumer." For those people there are two options: 1. Return the unit if they are unhappy with it. 2. Wait for the pushbutton updates from Pioneer. ....Meanwhile, this community will continue to forge ahead and show the great people at M$ and Pioneer the "art of the possible." Right, we are not the average consumer. If I were an average consumer I would have sent it back a long time ago. I kid you not, the dealer at Custom Sounds was telling me his customers hated the AVIC-F, one guy punched the screen in.
  11. Bottom line for me is NAVI sucks, BT REALLY SUCKS, I dont watch DVDs while driving, and I also got more than I paid for! (MORE PAIN that is!) Of course Pioneer had a "better" unit on paper than others did when it was released, it was rushed and there was zero QA. Remember the 1.13 software version?! Holy crap it was bad.
  12. Are you serious? I am going to eat 500+ bucks on a Pioneer unit that I HATE, and you want me to get ANOTHER Pioneer??
  13. Yeah I know, I just needed to get to work, and didnt have time to copy it to SD card. Is there a sticky on how to do this? just bought a refurn F900bt last week and getting it in a couple of days and wonder what firmware will be on it? Nothing simple and concise. One may show up soon.
  14. No, I *suppose* you could say it is reasonable to conclude it is the bashed in-dash Navi I have owned. I have used others that are much better though. Also, if I were to eat a dog turd sandwich I could then say it was the best dog turd sandwich I had ever eaten! Haha. But seriously, stay away from the F. I am not sure about the X, I would not send a friend in that direction... but I guess time will tell. Do a ton of research, go use it in the stores, all of them. Sit there for an hour. Not only are you about to fork out 1100 bucks, but you are having something put in your car tha
  15. So would it be reasonable to conclude that the F series is the best in dash navi unit that you know of? No, I *suppose* you could say it is reasonable to conclude it is the bashed in-dash Navi I have owned. I have used others that are much better though. Also, if I were to eat a dog turd sandwich I could then say it was the best dog turd sandwich I had ever eaten! Haha. But seriously, stay away from the F. 16. Tacomaboy if not the X or F then what? I am seeing new Fs going for 650-700 online. I cannot see myself paying full price for a new Z $1400!! I would get a brand new freakin 42in plazma on the wall. haha Too bad we cannot upgrade the old z1-3 software to the 110bt. I wish I could answer this question. To be fair, I am very jaded by the F, and I have *not* used an X so I could be wrong, but I have reasonable doubts as to its quality. The new Kenwood units look very nice on youtube. But again, I have not used one.
  17. Yeah I know, I just needed to get to work, and didnt have time to copy it to SD card.
  18. OK, and i agree, since Pioneer has the software done and it works on our units without the new iGo and maps, they should release it for free to us so we don't have to find roundabout ways to install it. I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that the option is there. Bingo, someone call Pioneer and tell them to do this. Sheesh Pioneer!
  19. Did the Windows CE update - buttons respond faster. Thanks Bill Gates! But still bluetooth froze, and frankly this is a pain in the butt. The average consumer would not be able to do this.
  20. Thats a good metaphor, and I have loved my Pioneer units in the past. I really want this thing to work, but I have to be honest, if my favorite restaurant served me a terrible meal, then at least TRIED to fix it I would understand. But if they refused a long time customer, and then tried to get me to pay to have the ruined meal replaced with another meal (that still might not be good), I guess I am the type to start eating at other restaurants. Thanks for checking my history, and I have really tried to be positive - I was even the one who found the software speed sensing hack! I just
  21. I have been monitoring this thread, I am very close to doing it, why the hell cant Pioneer release a simple fix that does not require 3 SD cards and a USB drive and 30 steps?
  22. Oh, another one. Has Pioneer fixed the bluetooth problem where the volume is RANDOM. Sometimes a call is blaringly loud, sometimes I cant hear the caller at all, and sometimes the frigging controls for volume don't even show up!! Sometimes the music continues in the background (at full volume) and sometimes not. IF Pioneer fixed 80% of these problems, hell I would pay the full 120 bucks. I am not a cheapskate nor a thief. Its the not the money thats my problem, its the principle of Pioneer releasing a shoddy broken product and charging for a half assed fix. And frankly I think i
