to each their own. I rather have maps loaded on my Navi then using my data. if your like me and travel a fair amount you know you can not solve the issue of loosing your data connection or slow connections. i think the deck is a good balance.

how do you know NEX is running android? it looks more like a QNX platform to me. just because something is free doesn't mean everyone wants it.

im not a huge fan of Android and would hope Pioneer doesn't go that direction. QNX may be a better choice. What ever they do it butter be good and nothing like what is on the market! i hope they can better Audi and Googles big announcement.

That completely fine to have a option. But what you think is " garbage " mite be another mans gold. this is especially true for you since you are living on the bleeding edge. There complaints on every product out but that should be weighed in ratio of user base. if you have a larger user base of course you are going to have more complaints, as you should know. what navi features are so horrible that makes it garbage? Your kidding right? the UI is much better but not consistent from app to app and has tons of bugs! I wouldnt say its "absolute garbage". it is very misleading when you consider software wise it will be Z140BT with a update. Of course there are hardware improvements with the Z140 but come on. its not bad at all

and how long do your batteries last when your not in your cars?

you could use Allen or Torx bolts. that would keep them from being able to rip it out. but if that was the case they probably just damage your deck trying to get it out. Plan C is the best. leave a box of thumb tacks on your seat.

what about those who have daytime running lights? Or like me, i have my lights on at all times! i would like a setting that switches between the two based on time of day. or a hybrid setting that is visible day or night. i seem to remember my trusty old D1 was great night or day!

Because you dont want to keep charging a battery that is already charged or short charge. You will see a reduction in battery life. especially if you think about how often you turn on and off your car. you are short charging the battery in the device pretty much every time you drive your car.

Anyone know if the AVIC mic is .. 1. have a ground shield AKA balanced (judging by pictures it looks like it is unbalanced)? 2. is the mic input powered AKA plug power. like say most new solid state portable audio field recorders? 3. What is the pickup pattern (AKA polar pattern) of the stock mic? would be cool if it is narrow and direction I.E. Cardoid or Hyper Cardoid!

why would you want to auto EQ anything!!! just use your ears. that is the best tool you will ever have.

Any updates on this subject. I recently saw the spec for ND-TMC10 in the Z130BT and was a little annoyed being that they made us buy XM service, bailed on that, then MSN closed shop and announce nothing to replace it. What you say is good news but would love to hear some more reassuring news! I think selling software updates is more profitable then sinking gobs of money in RND and manufacturing.
