  1. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K0WJSCUR http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XDPTH67G Found this on page 40... Downloaded it last night, and got an error on the second .rar. The file said usa_tennessee.fbl was corrupt... I'm wondering if the *.fbl files on the FX3.1 will work instead?
  2. Ok, I've had my AVIC F900BT for about a year now, and love it. I haven't made any changes to it though, but plan on it soon. There are two things I don't like about it though. First, is that I have to take apart the dash to get to the A/V cables to make any changes to anything behind it. But more importantly, sometimes the unit locks up, and I have to either reset it with the reset button, or shut off my car and open the door. Can't always do that while driving down the highway, and the reset button not only resets the radio, but resets my EQ settings, and other things. So, I made this box
  3. The switch looks something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062499 There is no power going to the switch. You could get a switch that may have a 12v light to indicate that it has power to it, but is completely unnecessary. Besides, this switch should be hidden. There are 3 terminals on the switch I have: 1 for the first switch position, and 1 for the second, and i common. The parking brake wire from the radio goes to the center (common) terminal, then one or the remaining terminals goes to ground and the other to the parking brake switch. I hope this makes s
  4. I have mine set up this way. The switch is a toggle switch. Flip it one way, and it completes the parking brake circuit. The other way will bypass the brake to let me use it while driving. The switch is hidden under my dash. I guess if I get pulled over and am worried about a ticket, I could flip the switch and show that it is installed correctly.
  5. I purchased mine from an approved dealer, and they never asked me where I bought it, or if I did buy it from an approved dealer. When I sent it in, I didn't even include a copy of my receipt.
  6. I thought mine was a bad ground too. That was the first thing I checked for.
  7. Mine did this a few months ago. It would work fine as long as I was not moving. I could boot into CE and it worked without any problems. It was only when I started driving that it would reboot. It didn't matter what I was doing- FM, XM, DVD, SD, or even in CE- the damn thing would just CONSTANTLY restart. by the time it would boot all the way up, it would restart again. I first checked my wiring harness, and made sure all was well. Then I called Pioneer. BTW: I had made NO changes to the software, only did the mute wire bypass. Pioneer told me to send the unit back to them. I mailed ON
  8. yeah- just leave the radio out completely, and try to connect the harness to your cars plug and see if you get the door chime. Once you get the chime going right, then connect the stereo. Damn Onstar.
  9. My guess is it's your wire harness. I have a 2003 Trailblazer, and I use the same type of connection you have (sends a digital signal to the cpu to enable the 12v). I noticed that when I have the wire harness for the Avic connected to the wire harness for the Trailblazer, even with the Avic disconnected, you should get the door chime. It shouldn't matter if the radio is connected or not. I'd check the connections on the harness, or try exchanging it for a new. It may be bad. Matt
  10. I removed the latest set of files I copied to the drive and tried it out, and it worked fine. I then copied about 4Gb to it and tried it, and it worked. So now, I have about 20Gb working. I still have another 8 to add and my entire collection will be on there, but I'll put more on tomorrow. Then I'll try adding video. I'm just gonna have to convert all those mpeg's to avi first : ( I gave it a good 20 minutes. I pluged it in when I left my house to go to work, and when I got there, still no music. Maybe if I add files little by little, it will work fine.
  11. Ok- so I've had a little time to play with my hard drive, and got some more info. Last time I tried to use it, I copied all of my mp3's to it, and it would not work. Today, I reformatted it to FAT32 (using GParted), and then copied 7Gb of music to it. It worked fine. I then copied another 8GB to it, and it still worked. I took it out and copied another 15Gb of music to it, and now it will not show up. I'm not sure if there is a bad file in one of the folders, or if I exceeded the limit, but I was able to get the unit to read about 16Gb or so on a 500Gb drive. I'm going to try
  12. Did you burn the files as a DVD or just avi files to the DVD as data?
  13. I had the same problem- I just figured I needed to format the disk, but I'm reading it's happening to others... I wonder if you could just burn some mpegs (not as a DVD, but just as a data disk) on a DVD and play them. At a high quality of about 600mb each, you could fit several on one disk... I'll try it later to see what happens
  14. It appears that most do their 'work' while they are at work... HA! BTW- I'm at work now...
  15. When I saw the cooling fan, I thought "How hot can this thing get?" Well, I know I'd leave it on 'just for a minute', get side tracked, and end up melting the thing if the battery didn't go dead first. I wouldn't leave it running with the windows up in the summer. Wouldn't leave it PERIOD with the windows down. But that's just me...
