  1. Not only does the volume change very slowly with the turning of the knob, the knob is also slippery. I read another thread where someone put some rubber on the knob. Seriously, when you give them knob a full spin, it moves the volume 5 units. That means you have to spin it 6 times to get 30 units. Someone must have hacked to volume ratio the knob demands by now. This slippery, slow knob control takes forever to adjust the volume. Pioneer wanted a skinny, slippery knob that you can barely spin and wanted you to spin it over and over to turn up the volume?
  2. Ok, the radio is on volume 48 and need to turn it down. I have the spin that thing over and over. If my volume is at 10 and want it louder, again, have to spin it a few times to get it louder. Can we change the ratio that the knob demands?
  3. You mean blue boxes? I will recheck.
  4. Is there a latest and greatest version with an arrow instead of the truck? I love the clean look and fonts. Vehicle speed replacing the dreaded blue box. Great work.
  5. Ok, I just installed the latest update (orange dot) and I still have the dreaded blue boxes. I borrowed a cheap tomtom and was jealous that the small screen was clear of clutter. This big Pioneer screen would look nice without those annoying blue boxes! Didn't they know it was a concern of the F series crowd? Why would they not address it?
  6. Hey KRIS. I now have a 2003 Mach 1. Can we make a splash screen using the carbon fiber background and this mesh with a Mach 1 Logo? Center the Mach 1 logo and raise it up a bit some the message doesn't but it off. I like the way yours looked 3-D, compared to the lesser quality 2-D ones.
  7. kdoll36, thanks for all your efforts. I took some of your backgrounds and logos and experimented. The backlight on the Pioneer is so bright that it makes some of the lighter splashes look washed out. I tried reducing three levels of tone and came up with this:
  8. That Cobra one is awesome. I just hate when the startup text cuts off some of the image. If you could raise the snake logo up that would be great. Thanks and I can't wait to see your other Cobra splash screen creations...
  9. Doesn't the system starting up message cut off the image? I would think you would put most of the signifcant graphics on the top two thirds of the image.
  10. Is the option 1 link the latest and greatest? Are the bugs worked out? Those blue boxes are insane.

    F series Recall

Mine had the blue dot and my friends didn't. He had me order him one after I installed mine.
  12. I have a 2004 SVT Cobra Terminator. Can someone use their creative skills and whip up a splash screen? Something simple, yet quality! I am using the Ford, brushed aluminum now and its nice. I am curious what someone can do with a Snake Logo. This is nice, but its a Caddy. Can you exchange the Caddy symbol for a Cobra Snake?
  13. I know it's not a BB, but my RIZR works flawlessly with the hands free bluetooth.
  14. The Python 872P looks like a decent unit. Looks like they can be had for $240ish. Now, to find someone that will do the install. What's an alarm install going to cost? 04 Cobra+AVID-F700BT+Responder LE =
  15. I did this and grounded the newly relocated mute wire and the parking brake wire too. Semms to be working fine. Thanks AVIC411.
  16. I like the idea of the remote alarm/starter, but I have a manual 6-speed. I would need to remember to leave the car in neutral and hack the clutch pedal requirement.
  17. Installation was a success. I still need to figure out a few things. I want to upload my own SVT splash screen, set my own channel presets, get the bluetooth phone working, etc. What is up with the long boot up time? My PC boots up faster than this thing. Maybe the new firmware/software update will take care of it. I will update the unit tomorrow. I will keep posting my experiences and thoughts about this unit. Stay tuned.
  18. After seeing this cheesy video, it makes me want to use the bluetooth. I did not even think about using it at first. In fact, I was not going to use the microphone, but now I will hook it up. http://avic411.com/?p=10 For any installers, I have two blue/white factory amp wires. I was told that I can get away with using just one, but I hooked up both to the 5V regulator. I will post whether this worked or not. Also, where are you guys putting your GPS antenna? I have no idea where to put it in a 2004 Cobra. Back truck lid?
  19. Hi. I am installing my new Pioneer Navi in my 2004 SVT Cobra. I have installed decks in the past, but this is a beast to itself. I have taken out the yellow/black mute wire and put it in the 4th open pin on the second row. I have grounded this wire, along with the parking brake wire. So hopefully I will avoid some of the aggrivation many of you have encountered with this unit. You really have to stop the car and put the parking brake on to access the NAV? Wow! Hope that hack worked! I am glad I found this forum and read up a bit. I know the directions says that the VSS (vehicle sp
