  1. Well the Pioneer F series has finally turned me over to the dark side. After purchasing an off brand iPod composite cable from Wal-mart the unit still did not recognize the ipod. I went to Best Buy and purchased an authentic Apple composite cable and the unit did not detect the ipod. I ordered another iPod cable from Pioneer and the unit still did not detect the iPod. I bought a brand new iPod and the unit did not detect the iPod. I tried a basic thumb drive with some music loaded, it did not detect the device. So I called up Squaretrade for a warranty repair, I have an
  2. I am experiencing this problem as well. I thought I was in the minority, figuratively and physically , I am glad others are experiencing this issues as well. I thought it was my iPod, since I purchase a refurn off eBay, so I had it replaced, that was not the case. I still experienced a drop maybe once or twice a day but nothing a little reaching into the glove box didn't fix. Today I come to realize the iPod cable is no longer working at all. I went to BestBuy and bought a brand new iPod just to cross the iPod off the list of potential problems and the unit did not detect the brand new iPod.
  3. I did the updates, firmware & bluetooth, last night on my F90. I didn't ride around or even mess with it after the updates. Rolled out this morning and it dropped connectivity with my 5th gen 80gb twice and picked back up the connection then dropped it completely before I even got out my apartment complex. I unplugged it and plugged it back in....still no connection. I turned off the car and turned it back on and it worked. It did not drop the connection from that point until I arrived at school and found a parking spot so initially it sucked right now it is working. I HATE this
  4. Sorry i'm late but here are the pics:
  5. In my tC the mic right next to the courtesy lights. I used a uni-bit and made a hole the exact size of the mic and flush mounted it there. I can take a pic of two if you like.
  6. Grab your art from a site such as http://www.samgoody.com The quality is still great, on par with if not better than iTunes, and you can use WMP or iTunes to apply it to your songs. This can be a very tedious task if you have 400 different artist, 1000 different albums, etc. However, you will be satisfied with the output on your F-series, iPod and anywhere else you will view the album art.
  7. You noticed the one flaw in it - Nice eyes you have there. I originally did that and the box itself was slightly too tall for the trunk, on the sides, and instead of taking the entire thing out I did some quick work from the outside. Ultimately, I will need to do it again like you said. For my first box, I think it's pretty darn good except that one thing.
  8. Now, that's what I call comedy. 1st - I don't skimp on installs 2nd - DEFINITELY NOT ON MY OWN CAR The ground on this install is actually ran through a ground distribution block, I have both a ground and power distribution block ran into an 18 farad Tsunami cap. To answer your question, I originally had competition grade 4-channel Tsunami RCA's; I swapped those out for Kicker's competition grade 4-channel RCA's. Both of which, for 16 ft., cost over $120. Pretty good RCA's IMO.
  9. Just verified that it is not the amp or RCA's. I used a tone generator and both the amp w/ RCA's toned successfully. I tested at both the amp and up front at the RCA's, each toned fine. I am about to try out an open box radio here in store and see if I get any output, as I already have done, if it works then that narrows down the problem to the unit itself.
  10. Not to sound rude or anything but the Pioneer warranty, even on the F90 is pretty weak. if something does happen you can count of Pioneer having your unit from anywhere in between 2 to 4 weeks. I would purchase the F90, this coming from someone who works at Circuit City, from eBay. Primarily, stereoneeds, you can get it for $850 shipped backed by their 2 year warranty. They have been around for years and they stand by their warranty. If something goes wrong all you do is shoot them an email, they usually respond the next day, you ship them the unit and instead of "fixing" it they replace i
  11. On our new system we don't even enter a password anymore and I can no longer access it from home. We have a portal and when we click "Directechs" it automatically logs us on. This is @ Circuit City so sorry I can be of no help on this.
  12. I work at Circuit City My store gets shipments on Tuesday and Thursday, it can be a truck on Saturdays but that is unlikely. Depending on when you purchased your AVIC D2, how much it was and IF you purchased warranty on it, then that exchange can be done. I had a guy come in today with a unit he purchased in 2006 for $1000, upgraded to a $400 JVC, minus the $249 for the warranty and walked out with a gift card for $300+. Warranty on video products is a direct replacement so hence it is valuable to get a good deal a few years later. Come in really good handy for people who p
  13. I also have an 07 tC you can use the Metra MET 99-1761, the typical Toyota Smart Harness, Plug in the two outlets to their respective coordinating harnesses and cut the smart end off. From there go color for color on the Pioneer harness to the smart harness, solder & tape. Ground the parking brake wire, do the pin replacement for the bypass, find the yellow wire in the 3rd radio harness, used for incorporation of factory nav when they release a capable unit, for your VSS, no need to go behind the glove box and look on the ECM. Run your GPS antenna along the drivers side, if you lo
  14. That is not the only VSS Wire The easiest one to use is the Yellow in the 3rd Radio Harness, not that two that are typically used. It is also a VSS for factory nav, if they decide to incorporate it one day, and it makes for a cleaner install, all the wires are in the same place essentially.
