  1. Okay, sorry for the delay but I am not familiar with zip files and have never dealt with them. Let me know if this works! Here is my stock DATA.zip file from the AVIC-F500BT http://Retzius.fileave.com
  2. Okay I am an official idiot. I am trying to upload my stock data via the add attachement tab and it wont let me upload it. It says the folder is empty? Do I need to host the file or something or unzip it, then upload? I can send the stock DATA.zip via email if someone is willing to give me thier email. Thanks. If you guys make the change I can upload to my 500BT and confirm with everyone if this mod does indeed work for the 500BT.
  3. I am using Vorians data.zip. If I give you my stock data.zip wont all of vorians mods be lost in my 500BT? I dont want to lose his mods, ie blue box, bigger clock, etc. Can you make the change if I send you Vorians data.zip?
  4. I dont think I did it incorrectly. I just went into the Data.zip file and changed the numbers in the project_config folder. Then it didnt want to save it in that folder so I saved that particular file to my desktop. After that, I found the file in my desktop and simply tranfered it to the file in project_config folder and deleted the existing one. Let me know if I did it incorrectly.
  5. Thanks HiFiSi I figured it out. I never scrolled to the bottom in the files window thats why I was having a hard time finding it. (newb error) Sadly it didnt work on my unit . I want my 500BT bypassed.
  6. Ok, I just found the file and I have to say it didnt work on my 500bt. I changed the script from 16 to 128 and got nothing. Maybe because the connections are set up different than the other models?
  7. I knew that when I tapped into the parking brake wire the unit was getting current but I didnt know how to stop the current. Thanks blu, very helpful. I will make a trip to radio shack tommorrow. Blu, just to clarify again, they put a diode on the brake wire to the car and not the 500BT brake wire right?
  8. Can someone help me locate that file within the Data.zip? I want to try this but I cannot find that file. What folder? Sorry for the dumb newb q's but I have managed to hack into the system and change blue boxes, font, etc.
  9. I just uploaded Vorians DATA.zip file and it works flawlessly on my F500BT. Good stuff, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum for all the mods and hacks.
  10. Lets go people, dumb it down for the newb non-hackers. I want to know if this can be done on the 500BT.
  11. LG VX8300 F-series model: F500BT Phone make/model: LG VX8300 Ease of connection: Had to connect using the navi unit. Phone book transfer: Easy, transfered all contacts. Sound quality: Good-Moderate, callers have stated that they hear a slight "echo" in my voice others hear no echo. Comments: At first I struggled to connect the phone though BT b/c I was doing it via my phone and it wasnt recognizing the unit. Once I got into the phone settings of the 500bt unit I was able to activate the BT and sync with my phone.
  12. Ok, I just checked my car with the 500BT and he is right. You have to manually turn it on. It doesnt stay on even though youve had the key in the turned position. Pioneer update? However, mine didnt reboot when I cranked the car, it went straight to the menu screen or wherever I had left off when I had the key turned. Also, I have to push the power button twice (less than a sec apart) to get the unit to turn on. Holding the power button doesnt turn it on.
  13. Hmm....I have the 500BT I'll have to check this out and see if my unit does the same thing. I havent noticed it though. I'll let you know.
  14. I finally got my unit hooked up and am able to set routes with the parking brake on. I was able to locate the parking brake wire in the car (which took forever). Also it happened to be the hardest wire to connect because I was so crammed for space. Anyhow, I noticed that when the parking prake is disengaged the parking "brake" light is dimly illuminated. When I engage the parking brake, "brake" light is fully illuminated. Can anybody tell me why its dimly lit when the parking brake is not engaged? Did I wire it wrong or something. I want the "brake" light to be completely off when the par
  15. Well that blows! I know KPthechnologies offers a navigation bypass module, maybe I can try that? For now, I am going to locate the parking brake wire and deal with it. I'll just be researching and asking for a bypass. Thanks HiFiSi.
  16. In that case, here you go! I am going to try grounding the parking brake wire again, just to be sure it doesnt work.
  17. Okay, I got my 500 working in my car and unfortunately grounding the parking brake wire didnt work. I couldnt even change the settings while I was parked! So, I can post up the wiring diagram that pioneer sent out but I dont want to get in trouble for copyright infringement. Will I get busted if I post it? I could just draw my own diagram. Let me know guys, I want to get this bypasses ASAP. Thanks.
  18. Alright, I just finished grounding the brake wire. I'll report back, the battery on the 500 needs to be charged.
  19. Any know my question above? Please help?
  20. Hello people, I didnt know if I should post this here or on a new thread but I just bought the AVIC-F500bt and I understand how to do the bypass for the avic-90bt, 900, and 700. However, the Avic-f500bt is different. I dont have a wire harness like the other Avic's. Instead I have the wire harness that has DC5v, Parking Brake (light green), reverse gear signal input (I assume for rear camera), amp control (will not use), audio output (aux), battery cable w fuse (yellow), and rear view camera input (also wont use). Please tell me what I need to do to bypass my AVIC-F500bt. I hav
  21. Thanks for info. its been very helpful. I think I just may go ahead and order it. It seems as if though the problems you are having are not really a big deal to me. All I want is navigation and ipod functionality. Let me know how the mic thing works out.
  22. Well, blu tooth is not a priority right now and I am glad to hear they have the latest software uploaded. The start up time does suck. I only wanted it for the ipod and navigation. Since you gave it good reviews in these areas, what specific problems are you having with the navigation and ipod, if any? This would be very helpful to know in my decision to purchase one or not. Thanks again.
  23. Thanks melrob1106, that is really helpful. I know that the firmware update improved some of the issues on the AVIC units. These issues you speak of for the 500bt, are they the one ones prevalent before the firmware update or issues that still remain despite the firmware update? Thanks, hope that makes sense. So then that means people who have the avic-500bt will have all the problems encountered when the other Avic units were first released? If so then thats a good reason for me not to buy it because pioneer has no update for the AVIC-F500BT. I guess the rep. didnt know what she was talki
