  1. I wonder... If you look, in test mode, in My Flash Disk\APL2 -- do you have МИЕ folder, right next to iGO? I think this is where voice control software is...
  2. These files are only needed in the /common/ui subfolder. For whatever reason, Pioneer duplicated them in /common itself, but they do not need to be there. DATA.ZIP from the firmware update should be the same as on the unmodified unit.
  3. Weird, these are _all_ the UI files that make up iGO interface. It will not work at all without any of them...
  4. In Windows Explorer change View options to a;lways show file extensions. Then save the file and remove .txt from the name, so it is only start.ui, ont start.ui.txt Or use a better text editor that does not mangle file names (EditPlus works nicely).
  5. Currently, AVIC is using 2007-10 maps of the US/Canada. I have seen 2008-01 available for iGO, but in general it's probably more or less a toss-up, although in my anecdotal testing, Navteq was still a bit more accurate. Of course that might be because I mostly drive around Navteq's headquarters...

OK, I've found out why it wasn't working right... Pioneer forgot to add one file to the /common/night folder in DATA.ZIP. Copy cursor_places.spr from /common to /common/night folder inside the DATA.ZIP and all those schemes should work now...

    Color Schemes

You're welcome! If I have a chnace to do it at work, I'll clean up broken schemes (they all seem to be night ones) and upload after testing tonight. Otherwise, I'll fix them tonight and test sometime
  8. Well, yes, TeleAtlas maps aren't quite as good as Navteq for the US. OTOH, the unit isn't even running the latest maps to begin with...
  9. Yeah... It is also software upgradeable (not to imply that Pioneer will upgrade it, but it is possible)... FWIW BT in А-90 works much better with my SCH-i760 than the stock Audi adapter did. Also, navigation software itself, iGO8, pretty much blows anything else on the market out of the water... assuming you spend time to customize it. Audio software on the unit is rather irritating, though...

Strange... GERD schemes actually work for me, but some others (Night ones -- UK Red, Old School, and some others) do have this problem. They refer to a file that we do not have. Easy fix -- boot into Test mode, and delete the scheme file. Fancier fix -- open up the archive and delete the line that refers to "cursor_places.spr" file.
  11. Interestingly, BT piece in F-series is a Parrot as well...

Take individual ZIP files (do not unzip them) and copy to APL2/IGO/CONTENT/SCHEME directory on the headunit (It should currently contain Pioneer Day/Night Red and Pioneer Day/Night BLue files). Then go to Settings/Navi Settings/Visual/Map something/Map Colors and select Day or Night Map Color. It will give you a selector with available color schemes. Experiment until you find the one you like best.

I think http://www.i-go8.com/ has screenies for most of them. If vI can get the PC version to take them, I'll try to maker some shots..

Definitely is one here, and it shows as having been downloaded 15 times... Are you logged in?
  15. No, as long as it is a .TXT iGO will try importing it.
  16. Here's a collection of 29 color schemes adapted for AVIC (thanks to twingos). I haven't tested _all_ of them but the ones I did are OK If one of them blows up, it means that I did not change a file reference to point to ui_pioneer skin... Easy to fix. EDITED: Fixed up night schemes. You still need, in DATA.ZIP, to copy cursor_places.spr from common to common/night folder. EDITED 12/22/2008: Added Xerces 9.1 Winter schemes and Real-View scheme. scheme.rar Schemes.rar RealViewV6.rar

Ummm, were you able to start iGO itself from the emulator yet?

Great! Should still be faster to test skin changes than having to go to the car, reboot, copy, reboot, test, see AVIC crash, go back, change, repeat
  19. There might be some limit, but well beyond anything we get here. I know рефе the "official" list of all of Europe's speedcams comes as one TXT file, and it is orders of magnitude larger than US/Canada list. Unit will just spend a bit more time parsing it. Just make sure that you remove X,Y,TYPE,SPEED... header from the 2nd/3rd file when you merge them.
  20. Interesting... Probably connected to the bug of a phone call always bringing up the map? Still, as far as I could see, something handled outside of iGO. Would be nice if I am wrong about this...
  21. That I doubt. Once the UI file is loaded, variables are global, and redeclaring it elsewhere is known to lead to all kinds of problems.
  22. Won't hurt trying, but that variable is not used anywhere in iGO scripts, so I doubt that it will control the message display. It must be done somewhere in Pioneer's shell...
  23. Yes, I did them separately so I could troubleshoot them one by one if there was a problem. Technically, you could combine either original KML files, if you feel comfortable with making that XML tags end up where they should be, or resulting TXT files (just make sure you only have one header). Technically, if you are not going to go to, say, Canada, there's no sense in loading Canadian cameras etc...
