  1. I was told I can exchange mine but he made clear to tell me the new one won't support video/audio either, and the cost to ship it and get potentially lost in the mail I'm just not bothering. It sucks.. I'd pay a premium for a cable that would work.. I feel like the weight of the adapter is causing it to twist and pull which will eventually cause a failure in the adapter or attached cables.. I just want to stuff it in the dash and have a single cable come out. I don't understand why a passthrough cable is so hard to make.
  2. I'm not sure if this was posted elsewhere, it didn't seem so. I contacted Inrix about this and had an informative reply returned. They removed all head unit support from the app while they "improve the experience" and it will return in a future version as a premium feature. -Keith
  3. LOL.. Sorry... of course I only saw your post just now.. You're correct
  4. I figured out the problem with Waze, I'm amazed that I couldn't find any reference to this on their website or in the forums, let alone have any responses in their forums providing it. I'm posting it here in case anyone else has this issue. When you use Waze on an app mode device, you need to go to Settings and scroll down to the very bottom of the screen. There you will see a setting called "Control Waze from car unit", set that to on and restart Waze.. you'll no longer get the hand with the red X when trying to control it from your head unit. -Keith
  5. I performed the brake bypass which is working everywhere else for me, the only app which has this problem is Waze for some reason. -Keith
  6. Yeah... I do have to admit though, I'm kind of glad the unit doesn't see the iPhone as an audio source anymore... I was so sick of the damn iPod automatically playing blue man group's "Above" every time I plugged it in to charge...
  7. I'll see if I can get him to exchange it for a white one, you got it from the same guy? -Keith
  8. For the hell of it I tried the cable connected to a regular charger and it worked fine to charge my phone, but when I connect it to the HU's cable it won't even do so much as charge my phone. That's strange.. The seller also told me that the cable does not support audio and video, only charging. I really want to find an extension cable that works, I've only had the setup for a few days and already the weight of the digital audio adapter is causing problems with intermittent connections.. Every time I pick the phone up to accept the app radio dialogue, it stops and starts charging as if somethi
  9. For the record, I am also unable to use Waze on my Z150BH, I get the same don't touch logo when I try to do anything, it's simply only mirroring the iPhone screen. I can't install app extensions since I'm on iOS 7 which can't be jailbroken at this time. Is this normal behavior for Waze without app extensions?
  10. That is the exact cable I bought and from the exact seller, I'll contact them for an exchange and see how that goes. -Keith
  11. I'm using an Avic Z150BH with an iPhone 5 and am noticing some strange behavior, I'm wondering if it's considered normal or if perhaps the strange behavior is due to my using a beta OS (iOS7) which will require a firmware update on the Pioneer unit. Below are some observations and questions: 1. When I open App Mode, I'm required to open the App Mode app on my device. If I open it and then lock my iPhone's screen to turn it off, the screen disappears on my Avic as well. The only way I can use App Mode on my Avic is to leave my iPhone'e screen turned on. Is this normal behavior? (I don't lik
  12. Yes, like I said it works fine without the extension cable. When I use it, it no longer works. I am using iOS 7 though so it could be that they introduced a check to disable no authorized accessories like that extension cable.
  13. Well I put my unit in today and winds up that extension cable does NOT work for me, when I use it my iPhone says that the connected accessory is not supported, the unit doesn't recognize it, and the phone doesn't even charge. As soon as I remove it from the mix and plug the digital audio converter in directly everything works fine.
  14. Ok so I bit the bullet and have the Z150BH arriving this Friday, but I didn't order the CD-IH202 yet. From what I read, most people already have the cable that comes with the CD-IH202 but I'm wondering how? After reading the manual for the Z150BH, it doesn't appear that it comes with the USB cable... so how did people obtain it? I already own plenty of HDMI cables so if there's a way to just buy the USB cable cheaper I'd like to do that. -Keith
  15. Thanks for the link, I searched all over and I couldn't find anything.. As far as the Nav, I hate Toyota's.. it's the most rediculous thing I've ever seen, I'd rather have the Pioneer's navigation over it.. of course, I'd like to try using App mode and using that navigation. The reason why I wasn't considering the App Radio is that I wanted to connect an XM tuner to it since I can't depend on streaming to work on my iPhone.. it doesn't work half the time. -Keith
  16. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger and buying an Avic Z150BH for my new Toyota (I loathe the built in navigation), and I'd like to use App Mode and connect up my XM since cell reception can be spotty by me so streaming off my phone isn't 100% reliable. With that said.. I'm a little concerned about the cable mess, it looks like the CD-IH202 kit is a lightning cable that hangs out 4 inches or so with an HDMI and another lightning cable coming out of it.. so three wires and some molding hanging right off the phone.. ugly!! Has anyone figured out a way to hide all of that garbage behind the dash
  17. After doing quite a bit of thinking... I decided I'm definitely going to replace my stock HU with an aftermarket, the biggest reason is to get better NAV than what the Toyota Entune unit has (yuck) and so I can transfer my lifetime XM subscription to an aftermarket tuner and retain the ability to do transfers down the road.. (If I transfer it to the OEM radio I can never transfer it again).. So now it comes down to what unit I want.. Despite all of my issues Pioneer's navigation (I loved my N3, but everything else just sucks).. I want to use app mode.. and it's looking like my choices are
  18. Hey Blue, I was thinking about what you said and also was viewing one of your old posts with the embedded youtube videos showing off your iPad installation and it got me thinking.. Maybe.. just maybe.. that's really what I should be doing.. Keep the stock stereo but just throw an iPad mount in the car and stream via Bluetooth... I can stream my SiriusXM.. and hell everything else is at my fingertips.. I'm curious what your thoughts are and if your opinion has changed since making those videos. 1. Do you feel that using the iPad while driving is cumbersome or interferes with your ability
  19. That's incorrect, you left out the part that said "Note to Blackberry Users:"; that statement doesn't apply to the iPhone. Oddly enough, the application is now back in the app store updated for iOS 6.1. -Keith
  20. I have a Persona, not a C, but I'm sure the details are the same anyway. I'm actually charging up my old iPhone 4S and going to toss it in my old car and play with app mode to see how I feel about it these days, that'll help my decision. I did read somewhere that Sirius let someone transfer a lifetime sub to an OEM radio but once you do you can't transfer it ever again... Not sure if it's true, but good to know it might be an option.. though not using any of my $75 transfers I'm not sure I'm 100% willing to marry it for good to an OEM radio. -Keith
  21. Thanks for the feedback, interesting information. Does your Prius have the JBL system? Mine is the 6 speaker non JBL so I'm not sure that my system has an amp or sub. It actually sounds pretty decent for stock and I do like the voice commands but I hate the Nav on it. Speaker phone is way better than my X920 but I'm guessing it's the mic which is why. My biggest concern is getting XM in there, I hate the idea of paying for a sub when I own not one but two lifetime subs. So far there's nothing I think I'd miss as far as integration goes, my features are set as I'd like them, I bought a Blu
  22. So I just bought a new car (2013 Prius) and trying to decide whether or not to replace the OEM stereo, I most likely will since I have two lifetime SiriusXM subscriptions and I'm pretty sure they don't let you transfer those to OEM car stereos. I'm curious what peoples thoughts are; especially you Blue since I think we both have dislikes for Pioneer lately. The new car comes with a service called Entune which is essentially App Radio Mode but limited to a tiny handful of apps. When I got my iPhone 5 I lost ARM and wasn't too concerned since I never found any of the apps useful. The Ent
  23. I noticed my avic feeds app was missing on my phone for some reason, I went to re download it and it isn't even in the Apple App Store anymore. Anyone know what's up?

    Iphone 5 Cable?

My lightning cable adapter finally arrived today and I verified that it does indeed work on my X920 (upgraded to X940 firmware). -Keith
