1. No, Abt will not wire in the bypass
2. I have a mac mini connected to my Z1. Even with all the text enlarged, you don't want to try to read anything on the screen. If I stare at it for a few minutes, I want to puke. It is the screen, not the computer. The mac mini's composite out is excellent. The only thing that I use it for is to play DivX videos, and it works great for that
3. I agree that using the stock Z1 amp to power the factory 2ohm Bose speakers is not a good idea, but I was just explaining that it is possible. I strongly suggest using an aftermarket 4 channel amp. I used new amps and new component speakers in my install
4.
Should be using PIONEER CA-R-PI.131. I believe it only works for the W203 though.
This is the one I used. It works perfectly. I got mine from that ebay guy too. It took about 2 weeks to arrive from Portugal
5. In my last post, I was assuming you had the Bose audio option. If you don't, then you don't have a fiber optic connection, and you can directly wire the Z1 without any extra steps
6. My statement above was correct. The only fiber optic line is from the stock head unit to the Bose amp. The wiring from the Bose amp to the speakers is normal. You can just run speaker wire from the Z1 to those speaker connections. The speakers are 2ohm, so it won't be perfect, but it will work. You will lose the subwoofer. If you want it to sound better, run RCA jacks from the Z1's audio out to an aftermarket amp, and connect that to the stock speaker wire that the Bose connects to.
7. I have a 2004 C32 (W203) and I used a Pioneer CAN bus adapter made specifically for the W203, and it works perfect. I got it on fleabay from some guy in Portugal.
8. You can keep the stock speakers, and run them with the Z1, but they won't sound that good. You will lose the bose subwoofer. If you want a sub, you'll need to put in a new one along with an amp. You should really add an after market 4 channel amp for the speakers while you're at it
9. This was the problem! All fixed now . . . However, my flasher circuit isn't working, but I haven't had a chance to look at that yet . . Thanks guys!
10. Really? My reverse camera comes on at the right time though.
11. Hello. I just had a Z1 installed in my W203 C class. The arrow on the navigation always points in the wrong direction, so navigation is useless since the unit is constantly trying to reroute. In my info screen, I see the following Distance 92.22miles Speed Pulse 974527 Learning Status 3D Hybrid I tried resetting the unit, but it behaves the same, and I see those same numbers
12. Excellent, look's like I'm going to order one
13. I can't find info on the inputs of the Z1. Can I have both a rear view camera and a video source like PS2 hooked up at the same time?
