Im going to bump this because I now have the same issue. Everything was fine then all of a sudden the album art and map pixelated. The menu screen is fine, and everything else works perfect except for not being able to see the map and album art. Surely there is more people encountering this problem? Im hoping there is a fix for this without sending it in to Pioneer.

If you want the 3.0 update you need to download the 3.0 flash disk and replace it with the 2.0 flash disk.

I had some what of a break through, the schemes that Boris posted in this thread http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18175 work with the 3.01 updates as well. Ive only tried a few so far but I have got them to work and now the street names appear in 3d.

I have the 3.01 schemes but I still dont have street names on 3d. Any one else still having this problem even after the 3.01 update?

I know you got it to work but if you hold down reset, eject, menu, map then release reset first then eject you will be able to stay in service mode as long as you would like.

My guess is this is exactly what you are going to get for the $60. Why would they develop a whole new unit and put less up to date maps and firmware on it(this is a copy of the flash disk of a x900bt). I mean I guess there is a minute possibility they released some displays(which i believe this is where the files came from) with less up to date files but knowing pioneer and how long they have taken to come out with each update I highly doubt it. Besides it wont take long to get a hacked easy rider so we can put the newest maps on our selves. Also if when you say signage, if your referring

haha I know how it is, I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I just did ALOT of reading up and as long as you use common sense and back everything up you should be good. Make sure you apply the new license file with the hacked easy rider. One question though why not just do the 3.0 update, its not much harder and then you would have the latest maps and firmware.

To rename the file look at the very bottom right corner of your screen in testmode, there will be a small button there that when you click it will give you the option for the keyboard. You then simply click file, rename and change it to whatever. As far as copy over the new file you simply copy the file from the sd card and then paste it in whatever folder it belongs in. Since you want to replace the APL folder you would click My Device, then My Flash Disk, rename APL to APL.bk or whatever, Hit the back button, click on sd card and copy the new APL folder, Go back to My Flash Disk and paste

I did not use the hacked ez rider, I used what came in the 3.0 file posted. This is what I did not sure if its the fastest but it worked. Since I already had the wince image flashed I went into testmode single clicked on my flash disk and deleted it.(Doing this will only allow you to delete all files inside it wont allow you to delete the actuall flash disk folder) Once that was complete I individually put all the folders from the 3.0 flash disk into the original flash disk that was now completely empty(took about 15 minutes). Once I was fone with that I booted up the system to verify it

Boot time is the same for me, about 45 seconds for everything to be up and running. I tried entering a location today on my way to work and the screen would get stuck so I would have to press the map button to refresh it. It did do this every once in a while pre 3.0 but not nearly as much and I figured it would of been resolved. Dont really have any major complaints but theres not really any major improvenments either(minus button response but I already had the new ce image flashed). I would deff. be pissed if I spent the 70 bucks for this. I think I will be happy once some mods came out,

Yep 2008.1 are the maps you get with 3.0 and 3.01. Does anyone else not like the update Im seriously considering putting 2.0 back untill some mods come out for 3.0. I really miss the quick launch icons and being able to mute and cancel route on the map screen without having to into a bunch of sub screens. The only benefit is the improved 2d but I cant stand 2d so thats no benefit to me. Oh well I guess this is a good oppurtunity to learn how to develop the mods and not just implement them.

Wow something went weird on yours my map version says 2.0004 and firmware says 3.010100. Language is English. Only thing diff. on mine is av1 not being set to ipod on hard reboot.

Thats weird I just did the update and it worked fine, and I had previously flashed the wince image off the 3.01 update to get the apl folder working. The only thing I noticed is after updating from 3.0 to 3.01, av1 is set to off and not ipod. Did this happen to everyone else?

Yes he uploaded the 3.0 version so if you want the latest firmware you need to get it off pioneers site. Shouldnt matter if you already loaded the wince image off 3.01 as they should be the same, cant confirm this yet but I will as soon as 3.0 is done downloading.

Honestly if you cant figure it out from the instructions I posted do not attempt to do this. There is a good chance that you will mess something up and brick your unit. I suggest you start reading up as much as possible and get test mode working and eplore in there for a while without touching the files. Once your comfortable with that then try to get into the service mode. Once your comfortable with both of those things and you have spent hours of reading then maybe give it a shot. After you do that I will be willing to help the people PM'ing me as much as possible but for now im waistin

Can we use this in Europe whitout the US maps but using the EU maps 2009 for igo 8.3 ? I doubt it since the easy rider is not cracked yet. Once someone cracks the easy rider and license than it will be fair game for everyone. I still think its great Pioneer thought they would get $120 for the update

You guys must be doing something wrong if the improvements are negligible. My improvements are like night and day all button responses are much quicker from the minute I can touch the buttons(with unit still loading). I can now type in a address without having to stop and wait for it to load. Im starting to think every unit is diff. because I have been completely satisfied since the day I bought it with 1.0 on it. Now I absolutely love it with a 45 second boot up time and absolutely zero lag on the button response, not to mention all the mods available for it. My fricking Garmin took atle

FourG I have successfully applied this hack to my f90bt. I reformatted my sd card to fat32 and put both the winceimg.bin and winceimg.cks and it worked perfectly. Make sure your choosing to update wince from sd(not formatted). I have 2.0 software though not 2.006. Hope this helps
