  1. There is no backlight on an AMOLED screen. The pixels themselves light up. It turns the brightness down to 0, which isn't the same as shutting off the backlight. BTW, this does not work on my S3. If the screen brightness is turned to 0, the phone goes into standby mode.
  2. Double tap the home button and then use the mix feature.
  3. Pioneer will never get it right. Certain things don't work because Pioneer doesn't allow them to work. They're afraid of getting sued.
  4. Use ARLiberator from the Play Store and you'll have no problems with using the touch screen for ANYTHING you throw at it. It sucks that Pioneer has made us have to use a workaround, but that app makes the radio do everything that it should have from the start.
  5. I've been saying for a while that my phone charges fine with mhl. Ever since ARLiberator became my primary means of using the radio I can't keep the phone charged. The only thing I can think of as a culprit is the fact that the phone has to use it's internal GPS for mapping now.
  6. Thanks. I figured that one out this morning. Felt like an idiot for not checking the settings. lol
  7. The latest beta isn't working on my S3. I got through the calibration, but all of the x,y inputs seem to be messed up. The buttons on the deck don't work either.
  8. It's phone-side only. Check out the forum at http://www.appradioforums.com for detailed info. I'm not sure how much I should discuss here. I've never noticed pixels getting cut off of my S3's MHL output. How much of the screen gets cut off for you? My phone gets REALLY hot with MHL on. I think the best way available to deal with that is to turn the brightness of the screen all the way down. It still gets hot though.
  9. I believe the Jellybean thread had a comment on that. All of the third party apps need an update to work with the newest version of the Appradio app.
  10. What's the verdict? I'm going to update to Jellybean if it works.
  11. Also of note, JB will be available for the S3 by the end of the month. I'll give them until then to fix that issue or I'll fabricate a custom deck out of a tablet.
  12. I'm surprised that they haven't yet released an update for Jellybean. Hopefully this isn't an issue where they CAN'T because of a fundamental change that Google made to Android.
  13. So true. I don't believe they're out a serious effort into the AppRadio 2 simple because it's WAY cheaper than most of their navigation decks and they'd rather that you spend your money on one of those.
  14. It's an ICS bug. Pioneer can't do anything about it. A lot of people with ICS are having issues that they didn't have with Gingerbread or Jellybean. Sadly Jellybean has it's own issues that aren't Bluetooth related.
  15. Only the AppRadio2 supports Android devices. Any other radio with advanced app mode will only work with iPhones/iPods.
  16. Pioneer Canada doesn't even have the 8.17 update listed on their website yet. lol
  17. I've got the S3, so I have the Samsung adapter. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but when I got the S3 only the Samsung adapter would work for MHL with the phone because Samsung changed it from a 5 pin adapter to an 11 pin adapter.
  18. I put the 8/14 build of CM on. Didn't try anything with sound until today though. Video works, but no sound. It's really nice not having to accept the Bluetooth connection every time. It'll be nice when they get everything working.
  19. I just put CM10 on the S3 and was pleased to discover that MHL works. I don't have to authorize the Bluetooth connection on every startup anymore either. When they add Jelly Bean support to the Appradio .apk file everything will work perfectly on my end.
  20. bigstu, I've currently got the Galaxy S3. I had a Skyrocket before this one and had no issues with charging either.
  21. I'll be hooking mine up tomorrow morning and will report back on it. I'm not a noob to this stuff, but am not an expert either.
