its a composite and Svideo cable...does the black end look almost like the end of an old computer mouse cable? multiple pins ect...if so thats what it is.

the powerinverter is not that bad...the 360 only pulls something like 190 ish watts of power...here check this out http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-356-2.htm it goes over the 360 in detail.

as long as you can still get into testmode on his unit then yes that should fix it.

Aww cmon guys...this is easy...in fact testmode already has all of the tool you need to accomplish this little feat, It would fix(hopefully) my unit, and it only takes a few steps. 1: boot into testmode with the new version of it Test mode can be found here http://itchybot.com/3.0%20Install%20Files.zip simply extract the folder called test mode onto an empty SD or USB drive, you can ;ignore all of the other files 2:select DiskRW 3:select read(should already be done) select SDMLC and give it a place to go in the propmpt(an SD or USB card )... 4:hit read let it work until it says co

Could someone post the SDMLC file for an F900. I have been scouring this site and have yet to come across a copy. I haven't bricked my unit but i need this file to possibly fix the error that the MSN direct is giving me"firmware update failed"...and of course Pioneer say"just send it back" with no guarantee or RMA number just a hope and a prayer that it will magically get back to me, so any help will be appreciated. thanks

but that is the problem...some of us paid 1200 for our units, others paid 400. you might feel like you got a good deal but others, like tacomaboy, feel betrayed. Had I paid 400 for the 900bt i would be upset but not betrayed, but I paid 900 bucks for this thing and for what? A shitty nav system, ipod problems, MSN that does not work and has not worked since the second week, and shitty bluetooth. Im sorry but that is unacceptable.

1. Personally all i use is the SD slot, but you can also use a USB stick. And the first thing you should do when you get it is load up testmode and make an entire backup of your unit. 2.Yes all you need to do is modify image.res, as for the parameters, I would stick to the resolution and format that whatever Icon's you modify use(I have not modified images res myself but i have used GUGA's theme and it works great) 3. sorry i can't help with the brazillion maps, though you could checkout the igo forums. anyhoo, goodluck with the install and future modding

Yes, Windows is always running in the background, it is the operating system, same as on your computer, Testmode simply stops the avic interface from loading over top of it and lets you use windows to manipulate files, ect.

Testmode is just HOW you get into windows...it does not change anything, it lets you go into the avic and copy files onto and off of it. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25329&hilit=Testmode check out that link, all you have to do is DL the flie extract the contents onto an SD card and your good to go. then insted of booting up the Avic software, windows loads up

I am curious how the DIVX playback is, the F series blew donkey balls at playing anything in DIVX, which sucked considering that was a major reason i went with this unit to begin with. oh and yes I have mine set up with only a software bypass and it works fine. though only an F900, basically your telling the Avic that at 256 KPH to turn on the warning and disable viewing video

Hey tacomaboy, I just wanted to give you props for being one of the few ppl on this forum to at least try and point out Pioneers blunder to everyone else. I feel the same way, betrayed by what used to be a company that cared about its reputation more than anything, now all i see is another company that will sacrifice the long term commitment for the short term gain. I would install the firmware first, then go in with testmode and change that value, other than that though, yes you are correct

Sounds to me like it might be a voltage issue, Try turning the volume completely down and see how long the unit stays on. if given watts(800) and volts(12) then you can calculate amp draw with watts/volts=amps, therefor 800/12=66.666 amps. you might need a second battery or better yet a better alternator to handle that much power. if you let me know what car you drive i can find out how much power the alternator puts out. EDIT: i see from your name you prob drive an RX8 the stock alternator in that car (i am guessing an 06 but the should be the same across the whole lot) is only 100 Amps,

Hey Tacomaboy, Does the new firmware add the stock quotes and whatnot to the MSN direct screen? I only ask because my MSN direct stopped working after 1 week, and i have been to lazy/holding out hope that this update will fix it. Otherwise, Back to pioneer.

Ok then the Ipod touch...A beautifly designed well rounded precision insturment of elegance and grace that can handle anything you throw at it... the Avic F series...A hammer. See the problem is, is that when Apple releases a product, they have already put it through the ringer (for the most part) and therefore there are only if ever a few tiny imperfections to be found...so when they go and put out a new firmware update that costs all of 10 bucks, its not because they are desperate to salvage a fault product that was rushed out of development, but because they want to add features.

The Iphone did what it was advertised to do. Infact it did these things so well that it spawned an array of clones throughout the cell phone market. the F series falled on its ass WHEN PLAYING A SONG FROM THE SD SLOT. And as for the 1 year life...well thats bullshit, sure apple might have replaced the iphone with a newer model, but that didn't immediately make the old one useless. Would i pay for a map update? Absolutely...i understand that there are licencing fees for things of that nature...but to force us to pay for thoes extras just to fix something that should have worked properl
