  1. Thank you so very much for replying. Yes I have a 2008 VW Rabbit, sorry I didn't mention it, and the car I pulled it from was a Scion xD. Which wire do you tap in to to allow watching of movies and navigation? I installed mine almost two years ago so my memory is fuzzy, plus I had someone do for me while I watched and helped how I could. I think I may get the $80 mainly for the ease of installing it. Or would it be easier and possibly work longer if I got the kit where I would need to run another wire? [edit] What would the advantages be of having the VSS and reverse wir
  2. Neither of the downloads (zip or torrent) work.
  3. I've searched and I haven't seen anything that can help me so here it goes. I have a Pioneer AVIC F700BT that I pulled from my previous car but I can't figure out what wiring to get for the life of me. I'm going to get the American International dash kit but other than that I am completely and utterly lost on what I need. I have no steering wheel controls so I don't think I would need Connects2 and I have heard from a few people that it dies fairly quickly. The PAC supposedly doesn't fit very well in the dash and behind the headunit (true or false?) and the Metra kit doesn't "...sup
  4. I have a F700BT that was previously installed in my Scion xD but trying to figure out what parts I need is.. getting tiresome. Where is a good place to get the Connects2 connector? What else will I need for this install? I'm going to get the American International dash kit for sure but... what else would I need? I have a 2008 Rabbit 4 door by the way. Could I also get links to where I can purchase the parts I'd need? thanks!
  5. Wait, since when did we have to pay for an update? Maybe I skipped something here, but who said you might have to pay for it? If anything, those who are able should track down the right department/people and send them letters of all the unhappy people who bought these systems. I'm fairly happy with mine, certain things could be better (USB/SD card movie playing for instance), but from what I've read there are a lot of issues. There is no way in hell I will pay for an update on a unit that does not deliver what it said it should on the box and their website. Who do we have to go after t
  6. I'm actually experiencing the opposite of this. My SD card is super fast compared to my USB stick. This is honestly so irritating.
  7. My SD card works in the SD slot. I made two different folders on my USB stick (Music and Movies), it saw the Music folder but then froze up. I'm guessing it has something to do with the actual movie I had on there. Going to try again with just the Music and see if that works. .MP4's should work on the USB/SD but it doesn't like my USB stick and my SD card isn't big enough for a movie. [edit] Music and a single WMV file work however there is serious lag with the USB stick. I can't even get anything to work properly without having to unplug and replug the USB stick. [edit2]
  8. I was under the impression that the F700BT could not read DivX formatted movies.
  9. It was a hardware bypass and it is in there securely. This only happens on the USB stick, not sure about the SD card yet though. Are there some specifics I have to do on the USB stick itself in regards to movie files and music? I've checked the manual and its very vague about USB stick use and if you need to do anything on the sticks before plugging it in to the unit.
  10. Oh yes I can do all that while driving. Which is why this confuses me.
  11. My friend installed and bypassed my unit so I'm able to be driving around while messing with my navigation or watch movies through my iPod (not sure if that's because of the bypass). However, when I put a .mp4 movie on my 2.0gb SanDisk Cruzer drive, my unit tells me to get in to park, etc.etc. and the OK button is not clickable! More strange is when I remove the usb stick my unit will show the interface for watching a movie then move back to the AV Source starting area. So.. what am I doing wrong, if anything? I'm going to try and use my SD card for this but I've read that there is lag whe
  12. So.. safe to assume if I put my SIM card in my old RAZR and have people text me it should come up with a prompt? Or is this not available on the f700bt?
  13. Ok so the blue power antenna wires WAS the issue. That's really silly to need to put those wires together in order to get a better AM radio reception and possibly FM radio reception. So happy now Thanks for the suggestions about the blue wires guys!
  14. Not sure since I just watched my friend install it. I'll take it out tomorrow and take a gander. Hopefully this is the problem and not something else.
  15. I'm not sure if Scions have a built-in powered antenna (never heard of it actually), if we do that might be it. However, I do have an aftermarket fin over the base of my antenna (guess this means no built-in antenna?) but it worked fine with my stock HU. Have yet to get over to the store I bought it from to test their AM radio.
