  1. Not sure that I'm correct in your case. But for me I had to boot with the SD Card in and it opened a screen with the device number..... I have the 910. Once I had that number, I paired it with the Media Number that was on the paper with my SD Cards.. (Used the B card to Update) Follow the guide in the link on this page http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Accessories/NavigationUpgrades/CNSD-200FM?tab=D
  2. Arrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I should have checked!
  3. Appears the orders are now shipping again from Pioneer! "The following item(s) you ordered are ready to ship and should leave the warehouse within 12 hours. MAP update for AVIC-X710, 910BT..SD Card"
  4. Exactly. A Giant company like this should be able to mass procure many of these and even make more quickly. It sux that they sent out the notice that the upgrade was available and then when you order-Tick Tock goes the wait clock! As pissed as I am, I have to wait. I even called and they said that they "MAY" have them by the 9th. The one thing that I hate is being charged for something that I didn't get.....its like bait and switch.. Not good Customer Service...........
  5. Quick FYI for some who may consider ordering. I ordered mine on 7-22 and after not hearing any shipping information, decided to email and see what was up...I received this response: Hello, The item is temporarily on backorder, but is expected to ship during the week of 8/9. Have a great day, I thought this was a bit strange for them to take my order, charge my card and not tell me this...... oh well just an FYI
  6. Thanks this is really encouraging. I'm going to go ahead with my order
  7. No one that I know has gotten this........I want to know all that I can before I shell out $$$ for it especially 120!
  8. Yep it says that on the site: If you own an AVIC-F710BT or AVIC-F910BT/F9110BT, your software or interface doesn’t need updating. The CNSD-200FM will however install the latest map data. But how much of a change has the map update provided? And will we not get this: Faster touch panel response With each successive year, our engineers strike to make features better and faster. This software will make the on-screen reaction to your commands even quicker. My unit is so slow and unresponsive sometimes..........
  9. I was searching for whats included in this update and found this: http://www.pioneer-rus.ru/eur/products/25/38/301/CNSD-200FM/index.html
  10. Received my 60gb drive today from Garret. What an easy install. I only stripped one screw head! But well worth the time and investment! Turns out that my battery is weak but not in dire need of replacement. I am going to replace anyway. Any ideas on good batteries? Auto Zone has an 8 year warranty..Sears Die Hard was once the top but noe sure that I need to spend $180 plus on a battery....
  11. Got it installed now. Key thing for me was patience and not be in a rush.
  12. Battery is about 3 years old. I did get the unit installed. Works perfect. But going to get the battery evaluated and maybe replace it. Thanks for all the help and ideas. Last item to do is install the HDD upgrade from Garret!
  13. Thanks. Your advice is appreciated! I'm going over this now on paper it looks like I just need to plan a little more carefully.
  14. Yep you helped a lot Just as I thought -- no radio and car still works. Thanks for the confimation Funny thing is I jumped it and it still acts crazy. Oh well I'll get into the dash tomorrow and look for a loose wire. Perhaps I pulled something loose when i pulled the radio. Thanks for the help!
  15. Yep Making a wher wher CLICK CLICK lights dim then out..............
  16. My D2 was making an ongoing clicking noise that was just annoying, I took the unit out ....Only unplugged the Antennas and Main plug. Tried to start it and makes strange noises but will not start. Replaced the D2 and still makes strange noises. Vehicle will not start. Any ideas? Loose connection? I'm actually replacing the unit with a Z2 (having it installed tomorrow) but as of now can't drive it to the shop... Shouldn't I be able to take my D2 out (to send in for repair) and operate my vehicle.
  17. I’m about to replace my Avic D-2 in my 2006 GMC Envoy Denali. I had this unit put in replacing my original factory unit. Left in (to my understanding is the Bose speakers and amp. It has the XM radio unit. The unit is connected to my stock remote steering wheel controls. Now I am ready to install the Z2 as a replacement. The question that I have is since I already have the D-2 installed… should or would I need any other harness or wiring? Or should the Z-2 easily install with the present harness with maybe minor modifications? The setup in place has the GMAH24B installed. Pics av
  18. I'm looking for a solution to this also. Did you get this resolved and how?
  19. I tend to agree. But I have not been able to downgrade. I see others have similar experiences over at this thread: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18827 So I'm shopping for a z2 or z3 just not sure I'll install it myself. I was thinking also about the F series but the smaller screen is
  20. Mine upgraded OK used it for half a day--then it died. Before the upgrade the drive was making a loud clicking noise and it seemed to get worse. Finally after upgrading and using the vehicle for a while it just displayed that message. Now with the new disk it displays that error message.
  21. OK thats reassuring. And it seems not overly complicated. Appreciate the info here. I think once I have it in front of me or view some pics it will be perfectly clear. But this really helps!! THANKS EVERYONE All installed and running fine!
  22. Thanks for the info. I'm watching ebay and am finding lots of refurbs all over the internet. My challenge now is understanding the wiring differences between the D2 and the Z series. Hopefully not much. I am sending out the D2 for repair and plan on listing it or passing it on to a family member. But I'll keep you in mind if that changes!!! Thanks again
  23. Yes Thank you!! I've been scouring different forums. And I'm ready to get the Z series. Should I stay away from the refurbs? Anyone know of good deals on Z2 or Z3 units? Thanks for all your help!!
  24. I have this same problem. Contacted Pioneer Service and they said I need to send it in for repair. $200 for the repairs as the unit is out of warranty. I'm considering changing to a Z-2 or 3
  25. Thank you for this. I am so tempted to do this myself. Its been a while (5 years) since I did any audio install and never a nav unit. Need to get my confidence up! I am also tempted and seriously considering the Z2/Z3 drive upgrade option. Only concern is if the Z series will fit in my dash (need to verify). But I'm thinking that it should since the D2 fits??? If so I'll start looking for places to buy from. Thanks again!
