  1. Loose green wire ground connection. Everything is working again. If the green wire is not grounded properly, the Navigation routing, NavTraffic and video will not work.
  2. Looks like I may have a loose wire connection. Unfortunately, I really don't know what I'm looking at. I would be wiling to compensate someone with troubleshooting knowledge. Anyone in the NYC/Queens area willing to come take a look at it? OR if someone can recommend a good shop. I'm willing to travel.
  3. Thanks. I'll check the wiring, but I'm not sure what to look for as I did not do the install. I guess I'll start with the ground wire for the parking brake.
  4. I'm having similar problems. Regardless if the car is in Park or Drive. For some reason my unit stopped calculating routes and the bypass is no longer working. I also have the continuous display of the "viewing front seat vehicle prohibited". I noticed it for the first time on Monday, and nothing seems to work. Initially, in Nav mode, under System, I was able to see the "restore system". However this has since been grayed out (disabled) and I no longer have that option. I'm using the original disc that came with the unit. The disc is in great shape and has no scratches, as it's usually al
  5. Turns out I did not have the data cable hooked up. It's obvious this was my problem. I will have this fixed and report back.
  6. Btw, I have the AVIC-N3 with XM NavTraffic.
  7. I think I'm not getting the full experience with Nav Traffic. I've called XM 3 separate times to have them reset the signal and it still looks the same. The only differences I notice are the traffic colors (red, green, etc. overlay) on the roads. I never see any icons such as road construction, speed limits (mentioned above), etc. Under navigation, I never get prompted for alternate routes if there's traffic ahead. I've gone through all the settings on the AVIC and selected all icons to be displayed. Also, the only icons available when selecting the Traffic settings menu are the 4 icons o
  8. ok, so it's nothing you probably haven't seen before, but I thought I would share this with you. This is installed in a 2006 Mini Cooper. Currently, I have the AVIC-N3 with back up camera, XM with NavTraffic, and the iPod/iPhone CD-IB100II. I created a custom dock connection for the iPod/iPhone mounted in the bottom of the rear cup holder between the driver and passenger. This is the best location for the iPhone due to the interferance with the radio. Below are some pictures of the install. Since I cannot get video from my iPhone into my AVIC-N3, I've decided to go with the Apple
  9. Can the 200 series be modified to work with avic n-3? And would it be able to output video?
  10. I realize this, but there has to be a way to hack the CDIB100II or AVIC-N3 software to make this work? With all the video iPods out there, I'm surprised no one has tried to make this a reality.
  11. I hooked up the CD-IB100II and the iPhone works fine (audio only) with the AVIC-N3. As mentioned before, the iPhone cannot be located within two feet of the AVIC without causing the ATT mute to activate randomly. My solution, I ran the cable under the center console and mounted the connector inside the bottom of the cup holder located between the driver and passenger seat. Simply drop the iPhone into the cup holder and the iPhone is connected. Is it possible to hack the CD-IB100II so it plays video through the iPhone? I assume this would be the same for iPod's too. Only other option
  12. Well, for those who own both you may have, or may not have, discovered that the iPhone causes the AVIC-N3 to "ATT" (mute) randomly. I have a Mini Cooper and the cup holders are directly under the stereo. Which just happen to be the most convienent place for the iPhone. Unfortunately, what I've learned is that when the iPhone is in the cup holder, it causes the interference. However, when you move the phone away from the unit, say in the rear cup holder, passenger seat or pant pocket, the iPhone doesn't cause any interference. On a different note, i'd like to know who has been successful a
