  1. While I generally agree that one person's sharp is another's blurry/pixely, I can assure you that my artwork looks perfect on my AVIC F700BT, and I've actually SEEN the blurry/pixely artwork. My 1st gen iPod Nano had the pixely artwork, and my 4th gen Nano and all my iPhones (3G and 3GS) definitely do not with the SAME music/artwork. Here's a screenshot of NOT pixely artwork from my 4th gen nano. I think I'm qualified enough to distinguish between the two since I actually experienced both problems! Of course, excuse the blur here since I focused badly, but you can see NO pixelation around
  2. I never had this issue on my 3G or my iPod nano 4th gen,..
  3. Just set the Smart Zoom to be lower in the Navigation Settings.
  4. Well I uncompressed the files with my Mac, so I don't know what to tell you! Either way I'm glad it works!
  5. I recommend people who go through a lot of tunnels not use the shortcut-enabled DATA.zip. There's a bug that occurs that when the GPS loses signal (in tunnels etc), it doesn't automatically start following the arrow when it picks up. After removing the shortcut interface, it all works again perfectly.
  6. I thought I already added the speed and stop nav? Anyway, I'm going to stop using the shortcut menu. There's a problem with it. When my GPS loses signal - like in a tunnel, it doesn't pick back up when you come out the tunnel unless you hit the MAP button. I'm guessing it's something to do with the shortcuts causing issues.
  7. You're welcome! As for transparencies, I'm REALLY clueless as to how to make that work... I'm sure the hardcore among us can make that work!
  8. So u just put the 3.0 image on and downloaded pioneer 3.01 and installed that? That's it, u did'nt have to use sake mode and copy the folder or anything? Yep that's exactly what I did. I did exactly as the first post suggested to install 3.0, and then just did exactly as Pioneer tells you to install the 3.01 update!
  9. No idea what to tell you there. I updated to 3.0 using the first post, and then updated to 3.01 using the official Pioneer update no trouble using my MacBook Pro to extract the files and put them on my SD card.
  10. Here are some screenshots. You can see, without a route planned, you have instant access to all the shortcuts to return home, address, favorites etc etc. Then, when you pick a route, the voice guidance mute/unmute button appears on the right, and the shortcuts menu disappears. You can see I have my audio muted at this time. I can cancel a route by tapping the compass button.
  11. Thanks for posting but I tried to download your data.zip and there is a 10 time download limit which has been reached. Can you post somewhere else? Try this: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=7680 ... f6e8ebb871
  12. I'll upload some screens later since I'm at work. Honestly, if you don't like it, put back your original DATA.zip or the one from the first page of this thread. I can't imagine ANYONE not liking it, to be honest. This is how it should have come from Pioneer.
  13. Also, for people complaining about not being able to read street names in 3D mode, go into the Navi Settings and click the little wrench next to the "Smart Zoom" On/Off toggle, and change how far the Navi zooms out. I think I set mine to 600ft, so I can now read the road names all the time in town.
  14. Hey guys, I updated the DATA.zip with the following mods, and this works on 3.0 AND 3.01 AVIC F700BT/900BT etc. The mods included: 1.) Software bypass for speed. 2.) Shortcut menu on top left of map (REALLY awesome) and only visible when not using the guidance 3.) Mute button for voice guidance 4.) Pressing compass button to cancel in-progress route. Again, this is tested to be working on AVICs running 3.0 OR 3.1! Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=7680 ... f6e8ebb871 To install: 1.) Put Test Mode and this DATA.zip onto your SD card. 2.) Boot into Test Mode,
  15. I put back the original DATA.zip file from this thread, and all is well again. For the life of me I can not get the mute-voice-guidance button or the compass-cancel-route button to work. Any chance of a DATA.zip file with all of these (including the software bypass)? Thanks guys for the awesome work!
  16. I updated to 3.0 no problems. However, after adding the mute navigation hack, and the compass = cancel route hack, my unit gets stuck with the "Starting up" message, and reboots after a few minutes. Any idea what's causing that?
  17. Umm I believe I confirmed this by making the guide I also included a pre edited .ini for the software bypass and included that in the guide. You do know that silent mp3s don't speed anything up? I didn't notice the software bypass bit, sorry! And the silent mp3s I want have nothing to do with speeding anything up. I just hate the sound they make every time I use my steering controls! May I ask what speed you entered for the software bypass? Thanks for the help.
  18. Can someone PLEASE confirm that with 3.0 installed, that you can still replace the beep sounds with silent mp3s, and also that the software bypass fix works by editing the .ini file? This would be awesome if this still works!?
  19. Does the software mod still work on 3.0, can someone please confirm? i.e. my handbrake wire is grounded, but I also have the software mod... Just want to make sure in 3.0 that I can still edit that .ini file... Thanks!
  20. Glad to hear it! I taped up my RCAs so we'll see how it goes!
  21. I seriously have no idea. This AVIC is nothing but trouble..
  22. Thanks for this reply. I hope I can figure this out before my 3.0 update arrives from Pioneer. Would hate to update the unit and then have to have it replaced. Will also be annoying having a gaping hole in my dash for several weeks (maybe longer?) while they fix it...
  23. I'm getting conflicting information here. I'm having the same issue with my iPod. Right side of the car just goes really low at times only with the iPod - other sources are just fine. Pulled the deck out and taped the left and right RCAs together. Seems to be working OK now, but I'm wondering if those RCAs are the issue or if it's something inside the unit? Some of you say it's the RCAs, and others say it's IN the AVIC itself.. so which is it?
  24. Not sure what you mean... Are you talking about watching video while the parking brake is off ?? The shop who installed me the Avic did this bypass for me... and this is still working. But maybe that's not what u meant... ?? It's the feature that not only allows you to do this, but ALSO to enter addresses etc when you're driving. I forget how I even did the .ini speed modification, so maybe someone else can explain it better..
  25. I'd say if it sounds too good to be true..
