1. Well go figure that Pioneers "tech support" would be a bust. Started out on hold for 10 minutes last night, only to be asked if I could hold again after I asked my question. Guess what? She dumped me right back into the call queue only because they had just closed for the night. I called back today only to be told that they have nothing documented as to what type of connector the antenna has. Surely somewhere someone knows
2. I don't know how different they are, but I had no issues with my 05 Monte. Of course, I disabled my DRL's, but there should still be an illumination lead going to the factory head unit. Did he say why it can't be hooked up?
3. I have a one year old SonyEricsson W810i with the advanced in car kit. The kit has a cradle that holds and charges the phone. The cradle also has an opening to attach an external antenna lead for the best reception (and trust me, it really does work). Plus when wired properly, it mutes the AVIC-D1 when a call comes in, or is made. I like it better than bluetooth.
4. I like this one because it closely resembles a factory GM antenna, and it will allow me to consolidate my GPS and cell phone antennas into one. I really want to lose the glass mounted cell antenna and the GPS one stuck on the trunk lid. Plus, should I ever decide to run a car PC, it's got a lead for WiFi too.
5. Bump. I haven't heard back from Pioneer yet. Anyone???
6. Well, I dug into this a little further myself, and found out it appears to have been due to the PIMMGR doing the jpg conversion. I used PimView the next time around and what do you know, the image came out fine.
7. I use a cheapo version of this one off eBay, only without the infrared. I didn't use the license plate pieces, instead I fabricated my own mounting bracket out of some sheet metal. The camera itself isn't that bad during the day, but lacks w/o the infrared at night. This is the 2nd camera I have used. The first was a keyhole style I mounted in a reverse lens. I don't see any need to spend the money Pioneer wants for their camera. Plus, the Pioneer unit is too big to mount in a decent spot and be half way inconspicuous.
8. Does anyone know the type connector Pioneer uses? I recently bought this GPS/Cell antenna not realizing the GPS lead has an FME end on it (though now I read on the website that it does ). I need to find an adapter to connect it to my D1.
9. OK, just wrapped up my install of a D1 in my Monte Carlo and burned my own disc similar to the one I made for my N1. However, when I go to load my bowtie pic for a background, you can see it's nothing but a jumbled mess (it should be the same pic as my boot screen). The bowtie was a jpg coverted to pim using the PIMMGR program found here. Any thoughts? Both pics are the same size (500x240), and the background was placed in the /BG/PIM2DIN/ folder.
10. OK, I bit the bullet and bought this and started installing it this weekend. While I haven't gotten it to work 100% yet, I will give Valor the opportunity to reply to a tech support email I sent them today (the instructions on connecting everything are just garbage). Push comes to shove I return it to Audiosavings (I have an email from them guaranteeing me it will work or my money back), plus the DVD changer does come with a very long IR cable and a hand held remote to control it with if I end up keeping. Very nice picture too.
11. Not meaning to be disrespectful, but joining this forum 2 days ago and already DEMANDING BY TYPING IN ALL CAPS for someone to give you step by step, explicit instructions will get you nowhere. Learn how to use the search function, and learn how to read. There's plenty of advice here regarding the question(s) you ask.
12. I could not successfully burn the image as is after extraction (Alcohol kept telling me it was not a valid image format). I ended up loading it into UltraISO and saving it with a different name (but still as an mds file). Once I did that I stripped the POI files and resaved it, then burned it onto a DVD-RW, and that worked fine. I've since added my boot image and the BG folder into it both a stripped and full image for testing. I'll be burning the stripped one next to make sure all the images are there (POS, etc) and if so, will burn the full version on a DL disc. As of now I don't know what,

14. Thanks. I looked all over for my "stock" disc and can't find it. I didn't want to waste a dual layer if this was bogus.
15. I have downloaded both the East and West discs, but notice when they're mounted that all but 2 jpg's and one pim are 0 kb (in the BG folder). Has anybody successfully burned these and had all the images show up?
16. I understand the topic of the thread, but when I read your other post, I figured you meant ANY upgrade software for the N1, as the 50 series and 60 series discs are both legitimate upgrades for the N1 you could install. It seems like you also confused whtcrxghst too. Sorry I guess I should have said "for the latest updated software"! Sorry for the confusion...
17. Per the topic of this thread, I was referring to there being no 2007 discs listed.
18. I find it interesting that I just happened to check the Pioneer website last week for any updated software for the N1 and found nothing.
19.
Is this on the head unit or the display?
This mod is done on the head unit.
20.

amp3d, I PM'd you the other day. Did you see it?
nope sorry, no new pms yet
Check again...

22. Whoops, you're right! You did solder the wrong point. If you're soldering iron has too big of a tip, you can either buy a cheap one at Radio Shack (they're around $10.00) or buy a smaller tip for the one that you've got.
23. Make sure you have your parking brake lead from the unit grounded before you take this all apart again. You still HAVE to have the brake lead hooked to ground or toggled to ground for the DVD and NAV functions to work while in motion.
24.

I'd actually like to find a way to hack the remote so it can be used to control the DVD functions instead of having to use the touch screen. Any thoughts?
Try the CD-RV1 remote.
That would work great, but I don't want to have to use 2 remotes. I'd like to be able to hack the CD-VC1 remote instead though. That way everything is controlled by one remote that's already mounted to the steering wheel.
25.
i have ver60 software and trying to change the bgopen.jpg on the disk, i opened with isoedit and swaped out the file, then selected burn, but the image is still the pioneer when i put it in the navi what am i doing wrong?
Try using UltraISO instead. Create an image of the disc you want to modify then load it into UltraISO. Delete the file you want to modify first, then use the "Add Files" option under Actions and browse for the file you created. Load that into UltraISO, then use the "Make CD/DVD Image" option under Tools. Burn the image you created and you
