What disks did you have prior to using it? This message comes up when you put an older version into the unit once it's been updated. Sounds like you've already used the 80 series and tried to go back. I had the 60 series (purple) then I went to the 70 series that I got off ebay. Bootlegged version. Worked great for 3 months then stopped. I had to get into the service menu and reset the unit to use my old disk. Once you've upgrade you can only use the same series or go up higher, you can't go back without resetting

Running into the same problem myself. It costs $200 and you have to send the unit and brain back to Pioneer. Just called on this 2 days ago What a rip

Maps are upgraded with the new software (ieLgreen disks) POI's are the same as the red disks.

I just called and was told their on backorder and not scheduled to ship until late September early Ocatober. I was also informed that the POI isn't upgraded from the 70 series. The only update they did is the map. That's why there selling it so cheap. Next year a whole new version is coming up which will be arund the $200+ mark. So I then asked what happens with the new N5 units. Basically it's got the upgraded maps on the 80 series but the POI's of the 70. If that makes sense.
