  1. There's a ton of stuff in the executable. I haven't really looked at the UI xml files, so I'll leave that to someone else. Here's a few things I was able to dig out. Any of them make sense to anybody for either the UI and/or the config files? uselightapi vGPSPositionToRoad background night btn_settings_nav_overspeed_incity txt_settings_nav_overspeed_1 txt_settings_nav_overspeed_2 txt_settings_nav_overspeed_3 txt_settings_nav_overspeed_4 txt_settings_nav_overspeed_5 direction_id direction_icon exit_id exit_icon secondary_direction_id secondary_direction_icon secondary_exi
  2. I'm starting this thread to keep track of the hardware in my F700BT along with any documentation I can find for it. Starting out, the CPU seems to be an ARM11 36jf-s, docs exist at: http://infocenter.arm.com/help/topic/co ... index.html Should be adding significantly to this post after I crack it open.
  3. I haven't yet, but one of the things you'll probably need that may not be part of the firmware, especially for games, is a GAPI driver. Not sure what kind of ARM chip this thing uses, but if you can find another device with the same processor and/or video chip (if the video isn't driven from the processor), you may be able to use that. It is going to be very difficult to get anything running visually acceptably though, since almost all devices out there are 240x320 and the pinoeer unit is most definitely not that. After I get one to tear into and get developing on, I'll take a look at the h
  4. I'll send it out tomorrow. Thank You no more same day shipping >To order just email me at thomashohl@comcast.net and I after I get payment I will ship same day good chance I won't get until after x-mas if you wait until tomorrow Thanks, Brent You're right! this is an outrage! I'm going to report him to the BBB if you haven't alrea... wait what? Well I don't care if it's a small company I'll just... what's that you say? He's just a guy with a machine shop trying to help out some people on this forum for a *very* reasonable price? Well then. Nevermind.
  5. To everybody trying to defend the F700: You know he's right. The thing is obnoxiously slow to start up and the SD card interface is less than perfect. Some phones don't work well, and there are a bunch of other little annoyances he hasn't even mentioned. That said, I feel that the features and benefits of having the unit far outweigh the problems, but that's a completely subjective thing. If he's expecting it to work the same as a CD/FM only deck rather than a navigation/media center unit then yeah, it's probably not for him.
  6. Good luck. I've been looking around for about 2 weeks and haven't seen a hint of a broken unit around. Probably because they're all still under warranty. I think I'm about resigned to buying an F700BT as cheap as I can get it just to tear it apart and use it for development and hardware mod testing.
  7. I'm going to get into disassembling the binaries on this thing and see what all can be done... this might be an easy change if the tuner itself supports it (which is probably likely, but unknown).
  8. Has anybody out there opened up an F series unit to see whats inside? I haven't popped the cover on mine yet, and was hoping somebody else out there may have and might be willing to share some pictures. I'm hoping that somewhere internally there might be a serial header that would be useful for custom software/hardware integration with other stuff (e.g. radar detector, alarm system, car/engine debug info). Thanks!
