There has to be a config someplace to specify image size. Resizing them, obviously, won't work.

Why would it not? Avic is simply getting the audio/video stream from the iPod so, like it was already mentioned above, whatever works on the iPod will work on Avic as well. If you can, which you can, watch your iPod content on the TV then you should be able to do the same on the Avic. Same principle.

There has only been 20 threads about this in the past month alone. Use 3D mode and adjust the view to your liking. In settings turn off smart zoom (I think that's the option, can't remember right now).

How many satellites are you tracking? Make sure your accuracy is good.

I have not tried this but from looking at some other image file you might have to put the background on foreground images instead of making their background transparent, if that makes sense. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem. Like this:

Yes, there is an option to change the loading screen. Stock one is pretty generic.

I don't know about speed camera sounds but should they not work the same as any other navigation warning/sound? I don't have any issues with any audio prompts from navigation. All still work like they should.

Actually I decided to play with this setting and this is absolutely true! It does not only lower the volume of key presses in navi but throughout the system. Lower the master volume down at around 5% first then turn up the voice volume up to where it's loud enough for you to hear it. Key press sounds will still be there but they are barely noticeable when the engine is not on and no music is playing. Otherwise I was not able to hear them, although I like them at that low volume. Just out of curiosity, does everyone create a second long (or whatever)silent wave file or create a completely blank file with .wav extension? File size is drastically diferent between the two. I have not gotten my new card reader yet to try it out.

I have 90BT and that fan is gnarly especially when you pull the system out of the dash. I have a little V8 under the hood so no fan noise for me

Have you tried DivX for video? You should not have to turn iPod on every time you want to use it. System will turn it on and iPod has a sleep feature so it will turn itself off after a period of inactivity time.

I you are going to use outer glow I would not use noise as it makes it look like a poor job at removing the background or jpg artifact. I think it would look way better with smooth glow and just a little bit of drop shadow.

That's not how it senses the motion. There is a wire on the harness that it supposed to be connected to your parking brake switch. So the system knows whether you have your parking brake engaged and that's how it determines whether you are moving or not. If the wire is not connected it will not allow you to do certain things, like video. There is a way around that. Search for bypass.

Geez, give people time to respond. It hasn't been even an hour since you posted the question. I believe all video signals are blocked unless you do the bypass.

On my CarPC I used to have a autoit script that would click on all the warnings plus had it zoom the map, switch the view and few other things. Is there an app for WinCE that can accomplish the same?
