Tried it again a few minutes ago after the firmware 2.0 upgrade. Sigh.. Hopefully, some smart people there can figure it out one day.

I didn't want to drill any holes in my 3 months old car so I went with the cig adaptor and special mount designed for my car. I couldn't hide all of the cables well but I am willing to accept it.

I have the F500BT connected with the IPOD classic via the Pioneer cable (Pioneer CD-IU200VM). It works fine. I believe the bypass is only needed if you use the harness. I do remember that I had some issue at first and found out the jack (Audio & Video) was not all the way in to F500BT.
