  1. I've installed a Z1 in my 04 Z. What you need help with?
  2. What year is your G35c? I have an '04 350z, which is essentially the same exact car and I used this: http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-AOEM-NIS2-1995- ... dZViewItem Installed it myself. Works like a charm. No defects. Very happy with the results.
  3. Yeah, I think I'm gonna take this advice and go ahead and pull out the soldering gun. Thanks for the help, guys.
  4. It works WAY better with the VSS wire hooked up. I'm having VSS issues right now where it will be able to read the speed pulse sometimes and will have difficulties others and I can notice on the navigation tracking when it is and when it's not working. When there's clouds in the sky or if you're in between tall buildings it will have trouble pinpointing your location if not for the VSS.
  5. Actually, my mistake, I actually did splice the wire. What a friend of mine suggested I do is to actually solder the wires together. I may try that later today if I can find other alternatives. I'm hoping that I don't have a defective unit because I've spent hours uploading about 90 albums onto the HDD. Thanks for all the input so far, fellas.
  6. Also, of note, sometimes when it's not reading the pulse, I notice the "Installation Position" reads "Excessive Vibration". This only happens sometimes though, and not sure if it has anything to do with the Speed Pulse because when the Speed Pulse is being read fine, I'm not checking the Hardware Connections screen.
  7. I've researched this thoroughly. This is the exact same wire that people with my car (Nissan 350Z taps into). But like I said, it does read the pulse. Sometimes it works just fine. More and more lately though, it'll all of a sudden have trouble reading the speed pulse after I've been driving a little while.
  8. Don't worry, I'm not looking for the location of the Speed Pulse Wire. I've found that, I've crimped on the Vehicle Speed Sensor wire and checked it for connection and everything looked good. The problem is, the unit won't read the speed pulse. When I start the car and start driving, it reads the speed pulse just fine, but after a little while when I'm on the highway or something, I'll notice the tracking on the screen getting choppy and I check settings--->hardware----->connections and the speed pulse will say 0. It will stay on zero and periodically jump up a bit and then get back to 0
  9. I've burned several DVDs on both -R and +R formats, and they've all worked fine.
  10. Nevermind, I figured it out. I just downloaded the newest version of the Roxio program to burn music CDs and it lets me edit all of the tags (track, artist, album, genre, etc). In fact, it just grabs the data from the mp3 ID3 tags, and since I'm anal about my ID3 tags on my ipod anyways, all I gotta do is drag, drop and burn without having to fiddle with too much editing.
  11. [quote name="A1cntrler"]I tried it using Nero lastnight as well, and it worked easier and better quality. I put in the CD I wanted to copy (In this case, Barenaked Ladies Are Me wich was just released about a week ago), Nero recognizes the CD and asks me where to get the titlles from, either off the CD itself, or download them from the internet. If you download them, you do not need to create a database for Nero to store the disc info in, as it is already stored on the internet. Just select the .cda files off the existing CD and put them itno the new CD to be burned (it will show the song
  12. Oh shit. You're absolutely right. I just tried this and it works. Don't know why the unit is so particular about such matters, but I don't care anymore, I can do my edits now. Words cannot begin to describe how indebted to you I am.
  13. I just tried it again, and you can't change the name of the file while you're listening to it. It says the file is being used by another program and it wont let you do it. And I highly doubt the bypass is the problem. The bypass would allow you to edit the songs if there was a lockout on the feature, it wouldn't stop it. So....how do you edit the tag info for one track while you're listening to another? He's not talking about on the computer, he's saying that you can do it on the Z1. In fact, I can't even think of a way to bring up the edit screen while NOT playing that particular
  14. Thanks for the quick replies guys. I definitely wasn't recording anything while I was trying to edit the track names. In fact, while the drive is recording, it doesn't even give you the option of getting into that Edit screen, as that button (left of the play/pause, right under the previous track button) is grayed out while recording. And in response to sportsfan, I don't think there is any way to edit song names without listening to the song, as you have to have it playing to bring up the screen with the button to edit tags. I can't think of any other solutions. I wish I would h
  15. Hi folks, This is my first post here, as I just installed the AVIC-Z1 into my car with the brake bypass yesterday. So far, the thing is a joy. I've only run into a few minor troubles so far, one of which I can't seem to figure out by reading the manual or by using the search function. I have a feeling it is an easy solution that I'm overlooking, so I'm hoping someone can provide me with a quick answer. I've been putting on my burned CD-Rs onto my library, but of course most of the tags are completely off. I have no problem going in to edit them, however, but when I'm playing the song I wa
