  1. Updated PAC install instructions for anyone running this in a late model Chrysler http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductData/RP4-CH11/1_Instructions/rp4-ch11_instructions_050913.pdf
  2. Update. It seems that PAC discovered this "compatibility issue" after I installed the radio. In fact, they just revised their installation manual on May 9! Once again, I guess that's the price you pay to be an early adopter! Now I get to pull out the head unit and connect the front output of the AVIC to the rear input of the PAC (and leave the others disconnected) and I should be in business. I might as well download and update the firmware for the PAC at the same time since they've decided to add some functionality in the last few weeks as well.
  3. Thanks, but, I think maybe you missed mine. I connected ALL FOUR sets of speaker leads to the PAC interface just as directed, but it indicates nowhere that only one set are used via the interface. In fact, if that were the case, one would expect there to be only two sets of leads and instructions that state to only use the rear output from the head unit to the interface. I was also referring to the fader on the head unit. The fader has absolutely no effect on the sound in these cars. I'm not even sure what you're alluding to when you say "your vehicle's hardware has nothing to do wi
  4. Thanks for the reply. Well, I know that the fader doesn't actually even work on these cars. Apparently this is due to the interface that we use to install in our cars and the Uplevel amplified system that we have in these cars. It inputs the stereo as the "video entertainment system" if I remember correctly and does not allow you to fade from front to rear. I wonder if there is any work around for this because if not, it's more than just a little annoying that 2 of the major reasons for buying this unit are now useless.
  5. Ok, I'm sure I'm not the only one here with this issue, but here's the deal: I have the z150bh in a 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8 and I don't think I've ever heard the navigation directions. I know that I also can't hear the BT incoming (or out going) caller on the other line, but they can hear me. Any ideas how to fix this? And yes, I've checked the obvious (nav/phone volume settings) I'm getting nothing, but for phone calls, the unit does mute the music. (though it doesn't even seem to try for navigation... nothing changes while driving with nav on... music plays as normal and nobody eve
  6. Actually, you're the one who can't read, but you're calling me the idiot? Sounds about right. Yes, I knew, because I read the Pioneer website, that the iphone 5 would need a firmware update and no, I wasn't "pissed" when I had to wait an additional 24 hours for the update because I know that as an early adopter, that's exactly the kind of stuff I have to deal with. I said you were full of it about the price and I was right... I don't buy that you "got confused" about what you paid and what you sold your old unit for... unless, again, you are the idiot because most people can keep the p
  7. He didn't... he's full of crap. Which is why he never responded with proof. Like I said, if he did, it was procured in some "less-than-legitimate" way because that's below dealer cost and unless he is a sponsored competitor (which, if he were, he wouldn't be on here complaining) then he's not buying a new release product at below dealer cost legitimately.
  8. He's talking about the Iphone 5. The radio has been out about a month.
  9. $670 I'm calling BS unless you can prove that. (and prove it wasn't stolen). That's well below dealer cost.
  10. Well, dems da breaks! That's what happens when you insist on being an early adopter... you wait on the rest of the world to catch up! It sucks, but I have plenty of music options on my z150 at this point and worst case I can stream via BT (which I know isn't what any of us prefer to do) but hopefully Apple will move uncommonly fast on this app update and we won't have to wait much longer. I wonder which app it is that we are waiting on. Probably some random BS app that nobody uses.

    avic150bh available

Got mine and got it wired up and ready to install in the morning... (It's too cold to do a 1am install this time of year... if it were summer, that bad boy would already be in!)
  12. This thread is completely worthless... Hey I got "Scammed" but I'm not gonna tell you HOW or by whom... GEE, thanks for the "heads up"
  13. Ok, cool. I will try to suppress my anxiety for another day or so.... I Told you to avoid USPS like the plague... They've ruined customer perception for me NUMEROUS times in the past...(it's funny how YOU look bad when THEY don't deliver) which is why I now refuse to use them for ANYTHING except sending bills that I really don't want to pay... hoping that they DO lose those, but miraculously, those always arrive ON TIME...
  14. Bottom line... You're out of your mind and you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Best Buy and Circuit City have VERY different business models and they always have and that is precisely why CC is SOL and BB is BAU (Business as usual). The store in our town is KILLING it right now in the middle of a supposed economic downturn... why, because they understand how to do business.... CC forgot that LONG ago.
  15. Alright Thom, It's been 2 weeks and still no sign of the knob... Looks like the USPS lost another one. Hook me up and fedex one to me would ya? This miniscule factory knob is killing me already and I've only had the unit installed for 3 days now!
  16. LOL, I didn't mean that you didn't have a "legit" business or anything like that... I just meant that alot of guys who don't ship alot don't even think about the Fedex option because they just assume that it's too expensive.. You're obviously a pro at what you do, so I had a pretty good idea that you were a "professional" machinist from looking at your work. I kind of assumed it was a side gig though...and that you did it for someone else as your day job. Try fedex... you'll be glad you did. OH, and get you an American Express card and set it up as your payment method for fedex and save
  17. Oh yeah, you'll find out fast that USPS is the WORST INVENTION SINCE STINKY CHEESE! That's why most "real" businesses (which I know, you're not... yet anyway) DO NOT use those losers.... I ONLY ship with FEDEX and believe it or not, they're NEVER much more and often times LESS (if you use ground and ship alot) than USPS and they are accountable for their shiznit! Hope mine doesn't get lost by those jack legs... I want my Thommyknob!!!!
  18. It's on it's way Beef! Thanks SWEET! I got the unit on Thursday, I received my kit, harness, and onstar module and the SWI PS1 before the radio ever arrived.. I'll be doing the install this week, so I'll probably have the knob before I ever install the radio!! Right on. After seeing this Unit in person, I am VERY excited to get this ThommyKnob, because I have huge hands and the factory knob feels, well, WUSSY to me... I'm loving the idea of a Chunk O Billet in my paws when I'm fiddling with the radio... I almost thought my Denali was perfect before... but I have a feeling
  19. X2... most of us who have installed for a living would tell you that those connectors work great... but only about 1/2 the time I avoid em at all costs. There is another crimp type connector that has a female spade terminal inside it and attach your new wire with a male spade terminal and then just slide it in... it's removable and they usually have a better connection, but I STILL don't like those as much as I like cutting, splicing and soldering with heat shrink... Sure, it takes longer, but it's pretty much a bulletproof way to do it.
  20. NOw that's a funny question... You want to put in a switch, but you don't NEED it, so you want some suggestions... I like it!.. How you buy some cool interior accent lighting (not the cheezy under dash neons, but some cool led stuff, and run them to this switch?
  21. CMIYC has a good point here guys. This stuff isn't Rocket Science... IF you have some technical ability and a little bit of confidence and maybe a lot of patience, you can probably pull it off. Just take your time, get the right tools for the job, (including adapters, pac units if needed) follow the instructions and ask questions if needed... That's what the forums are for. Plus, a scion is a pretty straight forward install... If you don't feel comfortable, hire a pro... otherwise, go for it, but TAKE YOUR TIME and do it right.
  22. It's a NAVIGATION unit... it needs to know how fast you're going to accurately calculate ETA, etc. Just read the instructions (or have your buddy who's installing it) It's all in there. and if you THINK that you are in over your head when you go to install it... you probably are, so it might be worth the money to have a pro install it for you in the long run. We might assume that this unit is on the expensive side for you based on your previous head unit (shoot, it's not on the cheap side for anyone), so it's definitely worth paying someone else to ensure that you don't smoke your $6
  23. Good price, but for $30 you better hope that you don't have any warranty issues because it is guaranteed that Pioneer will not honor the warranty on it. BUT, you might not ever have any problems with it, so in that case, you saved 30 bucks! It's all a matter of how much that peace of mind is worth to ya... Either way, 50% + off of list price is pretty good no matter how you look at it.
  24. I'm genuinely sorry to hear about your friend. I don't care where you live, that kind of thing sucks when it happens. But some might say that a drug deal gone bad ending in a death is one more argument for karma... Fortunately, it looks like the kid who killed him was put away for a long, long time, so Karma DID get him... Murder is murder and drug deal or not, your Friend didn't deserve to die like that...I'm sure you agree. My point was that we all know that it's not hard to find people anymore these days... so just be discreet if you're dealing with potentially incriminat
  25. Perfect timing... My F90bt should be here wednesday... I probably won't be able to install it til next weekend... Maybe, just maybe I'll have my "Thommy Knob" by then too!
