  1. so have you ever checked yet to see if other ipods acted the same way or if it is only happening on your ipod? i would definitely confirm that this problem happens on all other ipods before i would take anything apart!
  2. 100% oem camera will not have RCA connector, however should be easy to convert with a little testing as long as what ever turns the camera on is not being done through data. even easier with the proper schematics
  3. just for shits and giggles, please make sure your dock connector (ipod) is clean, and does not have any dust, pocket lint... inside it
  4. nobody has answered that question since i asked it at the beginning.
  5. you definitely can do this, and since the amp turn on wire does go off on the app radio it probably would work better for most cases if hooked to accessory. as we talked about it the other day, i dont see why it couldn't be much shorter, as long as it works consistently, thats all that matters. it can be programmed to be as short as the app radios software will let it, if hooked to accessory as mentioned above, the time would probably have have boot time taken into consideration (but we are not talking about F-series boot time here either ) but remember, when the amp turn on wire gets
  6. well at least if the clicking stopped, then it should be real easy to find the culprit when you have time, its either a bad relay (i would think the least likely, but the quickest to check) a wiring issue (first place i would inspect) or the TR7 either lost its programming or went bad.
  7. were you using mode 12 or 17? as far as it quit working, was the relay still being triggered on, off, and back on? if not, i would start looking at the wiring to make sure that nothing came loose, or try reprogramming the TR7.
  8. yes, not easy by any means, with all of the add ons and custom wiring needed, there is very little extra room back there, for starters any extra cables (IP-Bus, GPS, mic, XM, BU camera, usb, and AV) have been coiled under the end caps of each side of the dash instead of behind the radio (which i recommend with any car possible) then the xm tuner and SWI-PS are mounted above the glove box, then as it is being put back into the dash, you have to stop every couple of inches to tuck all of the other harnesses and wires off to each side of the radio cavity to make more room. wont matter, all of p
  9. those micro bypasses have worked for past AVH models that use a similar sequence, but i have heard that there are people experiencing problems with the newer pioneer firmware's, as of now, i have not been able to replicate this issue yet to try to track down the reason for it not working. I am also curious to see if anybody there is having issues with their bypass AND running the most current firmware???
  10. nope, all harnesses are different
  11. many people have made adjustments in MOD files to help with the voice sounding a little less like a Speak&Spell, also you should try to update your system, my f series does nothing but give warnings, way to much for my taste, turn in 1/4 mile... turn in 500 feet... turn right now... you just made a turn... lol
  12. other than a lot of people complain about the nav itself, the system is better than the older units, however before buying a whole new unit, have you tried any custom mods?
  13. !!!EURO UNITS DO NOT NEED ANYTHING EXTRA TO BYPASS THEIR UNITS!!! to bypass a Euro unit, just ground the P-brake wire. doesn't matter where you ground it, can be connected to the chassis of the radio, the body of the car, or even just wired into the black ground wire in the main wire harness.
  14. the PAC TR7 (not to be confused with the older PAC TR-7 in the black case) can also be configured to be used in mode 17 (clarion) without the need for a relay and is much simpler to program BUT PAC tech support does not have any other information other than that the new modules can do modes 17-23 http://www.pac-audio...ulletin_002.pdf but they can not answer any questions you might have on it (or at least the two simple fellows that i got to talk to couldn't) so i was wondering if anybody set theirs up for the clarion mode (17) and how they wired it up??? !!!ALSO THER
  15. this is exactly what i did, and it worked like a champ on three cars (two app radios and one app radio 2)
  16. +1 on the cable. i would also do a restore on the ipod just to make sure that it is not a software issue on the ios device.
  17. black plug with many wires is main wire harness, white plug with many wires and rca connectors ia the AV harness, the GPS ant has a gray connector, the mic has a black 2.5mm plug and the ipod cable is a thick bluck plug.
  18. im pretty sure that my SD card is SDHC.
  19. what kind of text are you looking for, and on what list icon?
  20. a good rule to follow if your bypass doesn't work, if you dont get video while stopped and parked, then you have a problem with the brake wire if you get video while stopped but then it goes away after moving a certain speed, then you have a problem with the mute wire.
  21. nothing wrong with having the DVD player built in, just gives one more option for people in the rear seat, also if they are adults, they can put their own movies in with out bothering you!
  22. yes, just get the right parts, and follow directions, so easy a cave man could do it!
  23. the way T-taps work is by cutting into wires with a metal blade to make the connection, this then weakens the OEM wire that you are tapping into by cutting through a lot of the strands (sometimes cutting 60-70% through the wire) so now you have weakened the wire to the point of normal vibrations or movement could sever the wire completely, or by adding enough resistance to either cause excessive heat or arcing and causing a fire. if this is a wire that is exposed to the elements, a wire should be soldered, where a T-tap will allow the wire and the connection to corrode at a much faster pac
