  1. Thank you StupidPig! I tried what you suggested and it worked well. It didn't change the id3 tags to be asian characters but it seemed to read the file names fine. I'll check it out once I get my ipod cable and attach my ipod to see if it is any better. Too bad whenever the system shuts off it loses the settings though. I will try it in my car overnight to see if that causes it to reboot. I always thought the whole reason why you wire the yellow cable to the harness is to keep the navigational system charged up while the car is off so it wouldn't have to reboot but I guess not. Th
  2. Thanks for the reply. It didn't work out for me though. I tried twice. Bleh!
  3. What did you do to get it to work? I tried for several days as well...
  4. I said the same thing earlier. I tried so many things it is ridiculous. I thought maybe this thread or the other thread missed something in windows ce for font overloading but it seems like all the stuff is there and it should theoretically work.
  5. So when I try to run reloadnls.exe or the one you provided (usemynls.exe) it says they can't be run. I don't know if the issue is that these files can't be called and the old nls in memory is the one that keeps getting run. Bah!! This seems like an issue a lot of people have dealt with in the past but all the stuff they did that works for them isn't working for this device.
  6. I tried replacing tahoma.ttf in the windows directory with my own font file and it didn't work (MSPINCHO). I also copied a wince.nls file from a Japanese system as well. I guess I am destined to have blocky id3 tags. I tried both the methods in both threads. I thought being a software engineer would help but it didn't.
  7. I tried to do it and it was successful (I believe). I installed the cab and also modified the registry. But when I loaded mp3's from my mp3 player with Japanese fonts, it didn't read the characters correctly. Is it not working? Does someone have a test file I can load up to see if the fonts are working correctly?
