That is not "the" hardwire bypass. The hardwire bypass involves removing the unit from the dash (if already installed) and moving a wire to a different place on the connector, then grounding BOTH that wire and the parking brake wire. To make the software bypass work you do have to ground the parking brake wire.

I have a Verizon HTC 6700. It is a Windows Mobile. I only needed to fix some of the numbers that had a "+" in front of them, and edit out a couple of symbols in the contact name. The nice thing is my phone would not allow me to pick and choose what names I put in the voice dial, so now I have trimmed it way down. It all works great now. I was getting frustrated with this, and am glad I found this forum!

New F700BT owner here. I installed the F-series bypass just fine by reading the instructions on this forum. Great info guys. My question is simple. Can I get this mod (mute) by only putting the "navigatemap_800_480.ui" from the zipped download in this thread in the "ui_pioneer\common\ui" location on the unit? If not can someone dumb it down for me and tell me exactly what from the download I need to put exactly where?
