  1. The 8400 and 8500 are practically the same. 8400 can be had for around $350 on Ebay if you are patient.
  2. Thanks for the replies. Do they both have wireless apple carplay? I was reading somewhere that the 8400 doesn't but can't seem to confirm.
  3. Hello all, Can some explain what the major difference is between these two units? I can find the 8400 for about half the price of the 8500 is there any reason I would want the 8500 over the 8400? Can't seem to find a straight forward answer to this. I'm upgrading from an old Avic-F900BT. Thanks in advance.
  4. Did my update today, extremely easy just follow the direction exact and you won't have any problem. Navi works so much better now should have came from the factory this way!!! Thanks to the original poster!!!
  5. Thanks I'll try that later.
  6. Those of you that have this phone or the diamond, I need to know what you are doing to get your phone book to transfer. I have tried to transfer mine several times and the FT900BT never shows up in the phone to be able to send the contacts to. Phone makes and receives calls fine from the radio just can't transfer phone book. Some are saying be patient but I waited over 40 minutes while drive and the phone still doesn't find the nav to transfer the contacts. Please help.
  7. Those of you with a Sprint HTC Touch Pro or Touch Diamond, how are you getting your phone book to transfer over because I have had no luck so far.
  8. Mine doesn't work right at all, this radio is useless to me if the ipod connection doesn't work, that's why I bought it. There has got to be a fix for this.
  9. I recently installed the F900BT everything works great accept my ipod which is the main reason I bought it. I will plug the cable into the bottom of the ipod sometimes it will recognize it some times it won't. Once it finally does recognize it, it will play a couple of songs and I might switch to something else and it will just randomly disconnects for no known reason. It's an 80 GB Ipod Classic with all latest software, any idea why it would do this. P.S. I have tried to different cables and it doesn't the same thing so I don't think it is a short in the cable.
  10. ^^^^Thanks. Just downloaded the manual and saw that in there just want to make sure I have everything I need to install when it arrives. HD Radio goes first and then it piggy backs to the Sirus radio unit.
  11. I recently bought a Avic F900BT off of eBay that is coming with a SIR-PNR2 for sirus radio, but I also want to have HD radio as well. Am I correct in needing a PIONEER GEX-P10HD TUNER? If so, do I need any adapters to be able to hook up both of these to the back of the F900BT? I also will have the ipod cable if that makes any difference.
  12. I know this is an old post but any pictures of your antenna location I have the same car and was wondering a good spot for them in the convertible?
