Well, I checked and I had it connected to constant 12V. I changed it to switched 12V and now I realized it was right in the first place Is there any problem if I leave it connected to switched 12V?

Now that you ask, I don't remember if it is constant or switched 12V. I guess most likely is constant 12V. I'll check.

Do you leave it connected even overnight? I noticed mi iPod stays on after I turn the car off and sometime the iPod battery dies (like during the weekend when I don't drive the car). Last Monday it didn't want to play and the D2 was making weird noises (iPod battery was very low). Did you disconnect the blue wire or something like that to be able to leave in the car?

The only thing to consider is that you'll loose the steering wheel controls. There are companies developing afordable CAN adaprters at this point. I'm installing a D2 in my 2006 GTI.

..... if I'm not going to install a rearview camera? Justg wondering if it's necessary or not without the camera.

Crutchfield is running a special for the D2. $1200 shipped + $200 gift card + rear camera (which I just sold on eBay for $150).

Just call XM and change the radio ID for your subscription. You won't have to pay anything extra.
