  1. I've never noticed that, but will look next time I drive.
  2. What I noticed when transferring contacts was that after giving the Avic permission to receive your contacts, give the unit a few seconds, close to a minute to start the transfer. While the business contacts screen is up, just wait about a min. and transfer should begin. Good Luck!
  3. You will def need a harness. I love my 700bt, but it was one of the most difficult installs I've done, might be b/c I put it in a German car. This forum can prob walk you through the install. Sounds like you've never attempted this type of install, might help to at least consult you're local shop for info. Good Luck.
  4. I have the 700bt and if I go under settings.....GPS, it displays my speed and to my surprise is quite accurate.
  5. I've posted this response on other threads here cause many people are having this problem: .....I've seen alot of explanations for this prob, as I had it myself. I took my unit out of the dash a couple of times, twisted the RCA connections and it fixed the prob. Catch is, it will happen again. I have the Pioneer cable going to my Nano. Reluctantly, I finally soldered the RCA connections and it's been working flawlessly ever since. It was a major pain, but worth it. You would think Pioneer would do a better job with their cables....... Hopefully the guys who have replaced their cables will be g

  7. I have the 16GB Nano and it works great. The only prob is rarely, the Avic won't detect the unit, I simply unplug-plug it back and it works.
  8. Hope this helps, I had poor reception until I connected the blue wire from the Avic unit- auto antenna relay control terminal to my antenna booster power control terminal on my car (refer to your vehicle wiring diagram), I have a Mercedes with a rear glass antenna. If you have an in glass antenna, I know you need to do this, otherwise if there is any power from your old antenna, connect it there. Perhaps pull the unit out and experiment/trouble shoot. My unit works flawlessly now, but I've pulled it out approx. 4-5 times fixing small probs, the latest being the RCA connects on the Ipod connect
  9. Woody, I had the same prob after my install. I fixed it by connecting the FM antenna power cable to an existing cable in my car, I'm going to look at the wiring diagram and see if I can remember what exactly I did, sorry I don't have an answer at this time. But I do remember it made a huge difference.
