  2. I found the USA AVIC-F500BT map upgrade initially on the Pioneer website for $120.00. It was also available on the Krutchfield.com website $40.00 off. I never bought it and now krutchfield no longer has it. It is the USA 2010 map upgrade for the AVIC-F500BT. I really need the upgrade but I don't want to pay Pioneer the full $120.00 IT mentions the upgrade adds functionality enhancements as well as map upgrades. Also available on Amazon.com for the same $120.00.. I work for a Pioneer distributor in northern NJ & I can't get a deal on this. The Pioneer website has the 40 page bookle
  3. I currently have mine going through a cassette adapter & it works pretty well. No hum anyway in my New Beetle. Next week I am getting it custom installed. Seperate power in (hot all the time) I am having it mounted on a mount that sits in front & below the dash. It's so big I could miss a truck in the blindspot otherwise. New headunit with DVD so I can run it through the AVIC. Maybe I'll take some before & after pics. Anyone interested?
  4. Hey If it's not opened you could always send it back for credit. Then re-order. Maybe a restocking fee though. Good Luck. PS. 6TH Avenue Electronics is pretty good. Amazon is OK but most of the time you are not buying from Amazon itself. You are actually buying from a vendor. I know I ship for Amazon.com and 6TH Avenue too. It's the world of drop shipping.
  5. Hey AVICF People. For the money the AVICF500BT is great. (under $200. US.) I'm getting mine custom fitted on Tuesday integrated with a JVC Headunit MODEL KDDV7400 It's front loading DvD/CD with front USB+front AV. It's cool & also under $200.. We're gonna' run the DVD out into the AVICF500. I work for an electronics distributor in Northern NJ. I get some good deals on car audio. I had my AVIC updated to the 2.0 software by the Pioneer tech in house. It's still got a pretty slow startup time but I have a 16GB flash drive plugged into the USB so that slows it down a
  6. If the installer didn't wire the unit as HOT all the time then this is normal. Before you shut the ignition press power off button for only one second. That will put it into sleep mode. Then when you restart the car push it again for one second. It will restart much faster. Overnight I shut it off fully.
  7. I live in Rutherford. My friend has HD radio and it's only OK. In the city you tend to lose the signal here and there. Up North in Ramsey the mountians mess it up too. I bought SiriusXM. ( now one company). It works great.
  8. Hey all. I have the AVICF500BT with the 2.0 upgrade. I plugged in my 16Gig flash drive and all seemed OK. When I turn it on after shutting off using the sleep type mode the unit would only read one MP3 file per folder. I would have to completely shut it off and reboot to get the song files back. I realized the first of my folders had only one MP3 file in it. The system must have not liked that. When I moved the MP3 file info another larger folder it was fine.
