And you know this how? Oh, right. You're guessing. yeah, if you kept up with the iGo 8.3 discussions (and also some of the map update disscussions) you will have seen that it has ALREADY been proven that the current maps WILL NOT WORK WITH iGo 8.3!

Because they could offer the firmware without igo8.3 and maps and now the firmware is compatible with igo 8.0 and the old maps. I see what people want. They want the glitches fixed for free and they shoulod get it free. Some if not all of the probs associated with the f-series are not caused by the igo software so why does pioneer feel they have to bundle a firmware update with a new igo version that is not compatible with the old maps and just leave it out. Then you would have a firmware update that did not require you to buy it because there would be no map and new software licensing fee

I will miss CMH, He helped me learn to mod my own unit myself. He even made a version for my to use and work with and I really was greatfull. I took what he made for me and modded it more to adjust things just the way i liked it, but without his help i would have never figured any of it out on my own, People have got to remember, you mess around with things on your own you run the risk of bricking your unit, its no one else but you own fault. Thee mods have worked GREAT for many many people and just b/c it bricked you unit does not make it CMH's fault, its all your fault b/c it worked for ever

issues I am having with 3.0. startes up fine, reads the mp3's on sd card fine. start iGo and keep getting the misssing lang error (and i followed the directions on here to correct that) start tomtom and have maps added like it says on here to do and it keeps saying that it cant find the maps. BIGGEST ISSUE when i take the sd card out to boot in regular mode, I keep getting a error popping up that i cant read (b/c it goes to a diff screen too fast), and ALL my navi settings are reset to factory, all my histories and my "home" locations are erased. and sometimes the unit has to reboot 3 or

did you do the FULL bypass or just the p-break bypass with the software bypass? if you just ground the p-break wire and dont put the software bypass in then it will do what you are saying, BUT if you did the full wire bypass or have the p-break/software bypass and its not working then its prolly a bad connection (you dont need the software bypass if you did the full wire bypass, which is the p-break wire and the mute wire (moved to the correct location), both grounded)

Ok IF i find the map, what folder do i then need to copy/past and where to in the mode file !? All those instructions should be part of the TOM TOM download. As in other GPS software. the maps would go to a specific folder in the TOM TOM folder. There are several places you can find that info much more easily. the filesDONT go into the tomtom folder from what others have posted on here, I think they have said that those files need to go onto the root of the sd card just just like the tomtom folder is, but you might want to read the first post in the thread to see for sure (he has it

as far as anyone knows, NO there isn't.

the tomtom app is in the program, BUT its up to you to "find" the maps, poi, and other files it needs. Do you have to pay for them? Well that depends on if you know how to find them.

well. did a little google searching and found this http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topi ... rms=JVC,KW accarding to the guy in that thread, they have not found the way to access the the backdoor into the system, but that was a few months back, remember google is your friend, you prolly wont find anything on that unit here b/c this forum is for pioneers. the only reason that the avic f series is hackable is b/c pioneer let the back door to there system public (if they wanted to or not is a diff story)

I'm not talking about an physical update, i'm just talking about him letting us know how progress is coming on geting the bugs worked out (as in radio working, ipod, etc.) I want him to take his timegetting this right, but some communication would be nice.

got the date put in (i think my dyslexia messed me up the other day while trying to put it in), desided not to try to tackle the fading buttons thing for now, might try sometime in the future.

no, i dont unzip it, i use a program called "BetterZip" that allows me to work with ANY ziped file without unzipping them, its the ONLY zip program i have found that allows me to work with the avic zip on my mac and allow them to work right. BUT what i'm think is happening is that when i unzip the files from your zip and put them on my mac, the mac might be changing something in the info part of the file for mac to work with it right ( or what it thinks should be right).. but i dunno, i normally dont have this issue with files, but it does happen every so often if the mac does not know what ty

yeah posted up in other thread before i saw this, could not get mine to work, added the fiels to the zip (after removing the old ones) and ziped it back up, renamed the file, loaded it into the unit and lost all my images on my main screen and other images in the menus. switched back to the original GUGA Civic theme he has posted in his thread and back to normal. BTW, i'm on a mac so that might effect the way its handling the files for working right with the f90, but when i work in the data.zip to add new things to my mod i dont have issues working with the files...

grrrrrr.. i copied these files into the zip, but could not get it to work...... lost all my main screen images and other images in other places in menus..... ziped back up right and all.... might be b/c i'm on a mac and it handles the files diff when i rename them. I'm using the original Guga civic theme now.

the poi that came with the unit were good, 2008.4 ones had less poi in them (as in the unit didnt show some poi that it did before) and 2008.10 had more then the 2007.? that came with the unit. thats what i saw updating through the diff ones
