  1. 1) its in your manual, look up change splash screen, put the pict to be used (look at top of forum for a thread that peeps have already made alot of cool ones) onto an SD card inside a folder named "pictures". then go to your system settings menu in the settings screen. hit the splash screen button and then select the SD card option at the bottom of the screen. once you have to one you want picked out the unit will temp. transfer it to the memory of the unit. it will stay there till you change it to something else. Like i said, the manual for the unit has ital in it how to do this.
  2. cool, I'll give it a try when i have time in the next few days to work on it. this was very helpful!! THX!!!
  3. ok, in what file is the dimming icon script hiding, thinking about adding it to my mod, but can't find it to see what i need to add to mine.. lol
  4. yeah you can take that of there since i have already tweeked the one you changed into more of what i was wanting, I think i'm adding the date right below the time to mine next and also adding the dimming icons soon too... once i have time to sit down and figure them out (date should be easy, just have to move things around a bit, the dimming icons i have to figure out how to adapt to the mod so that they work, prolly easy enough, just have not had the time to look into it.)
  5. try doing a reset, Same thing i told him in the other thread. Its a bug that happens sometimes after coming out of test mode, doing a reset fixes it for some people other can just go back intotestmode and then come back out and it fixes it.
  6. it happends sometimes after you come out of test mode, reset you unit (the reset button) that fixed it for me the last time, other have said that entering into test mode again and then starting normally after that fixed it for them.
  7. the lane info does work, at least around here, may not always be right but its there (as in sometimes it shows more lanes then are really there)
  8. actually, thats wrong, pioneer has stated that its not a part of the remote function to control the presets. They made it like that, though i don't see why.
  9. looks like you would prolly need both, one for the chimes/on-star to work (the audible stuff) and the other with the lcd screen to get the visual part to show.
  10. it was not metal to metal, the wire was held away from the roof by fasteners w/ double sided tape, the antennas came with the tv unit.
  11. Phone Make/Model: Palm Treo 700p (with 755p firmware) Carrier (ATT, TUSMOBIL, Verizon, etc.): Sprint Location: US Pairing Compatibility: Yes, but took many tries to get them to pair, but finally did Phonebook Transfer: Not well, would only transfer a few contacts, and would not take one at a time Make/Receive Calls: Both, but if you use the radio to make the call it will start to work right and then switch back to the phone speaker, but if you start the call from your phone, handsfree works with no problems, receive works GREAT Voice Dialing: see above SMS Alert: no
  12. well one big thing is that the factory jack is an audio only jack, where as the one on the front of the unit is a audio/video jack
  13. I used to have TV in my old truck, the unit came with 2 window wire antennas. (they stuck along the side of the windows). BUT they got MUCH better reception when mounted to the metal roof of the car in the headliner area. MOST antenna do better if mounted to metal objects b/c of the "ground plane" that it creates. The normal radio antenna should NOT be used b/c its not tuned to the feq. that TV need (its not just an impedance issue, having the antenna the right length so thats it picks up the channels wave at the right point is important) and will get bad reception. The Bigger is always better
  14. If i were you i would be the full hardwire bypass just to be on the safe side. It only takes a few more seconds to do if you are installing it yourself anyway.
  15. download the mod that says DJDisturbed-auto, he changed the clock to a dif color in that one, also you can check out the one that says BIG clock, that one is easier to see as well. or if you look around page 13 ofthis thread you can download gnasr's mod and his clock is very easy to see.
  16. but you can use the 2008.10 poi with 2008.4 maps and 8.0, but 2008.10 maps will only work with 8.3
  17. i think someone posted in his thread about having the same issue and he found out what it was and fixed it and put up a new one to use, check his thread. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=22695&start=375
  18. Once you get to the tap ok to continue thing have you just tried to keep hitting diff parts of the screen, like start at the button and work out from there, might be able to find the spot that it THINKS the button should be and go from there.
  19. he changed the clock color in the newer version of the mod to make it easier to see, as for the dest. menu pict, check out the Guga thread about how to do them viewtopic.php?f=34&t=21840
  20. ok, first try to re-install the mod (or re-install the older version of the mod) this should fix this issue. most of the time all it is when your unit does that is a messed up/corrupt data.zip file, reinstalling the data.zip or reverting back to one that worked before will prolly fix that. (might want to try redownloading the mod as well incase your download got messed up).you more then likely DONT have to do a full restore (just trying to save you time in getting your unit back right)
  21. once again, you have to make sure you put the test mode files onto the card also so that you can get into the windows CE screens. The mods dont install themselves (unless you use mods like Cmh982 that are self installing). you must copy the files into your device into there correct location. BUT MAKE SURE YOU FULLY BACK-UP YOUR UNIT BEFORE YOU DO ANY MODS TO IT SO THAT IF SOMETHING F''S UP YOU CAN RESTORE IT BACK TO NORMAL IF YOU DIDN'T MESS IT UP TOO BAD. There are threads already in the forum about how to do this (hint, look at wiki and/or stickied threads to find out ALL this info).
  22. Yup, but like i said im in a bad area for HD radio i basically have to drive 15 min from my town where it will stop cutting in and out of digital.... i was looking into a better antenna for the jeep, (but i didnt want a monster sized one). But i did find this one .... http://www.jcwhitney.com/DOUBLE-TAKE-ARCHERY-CAMOUFLAGE-ARROW-RADIO-ANTENNA/GP_2020615_N_111+10201+600000501_10101.jcw lol its a riot... but i dont know if i want to get it. Bigger is NOT always better when it comes to antennas, an antenna that picks up the best is one that is properly tuned to the wavelength that you a
  23. its mostly you own personal listening pref. just expiriment around with a custom eq's, best to try to either raise the highs and lows of the eq first OR lower the midrange a little and see how it sounds, In my civic i have it set to LOW 40hrz +3 wide2 High 10kHrz +2 Wide1 Bass boost at 1 or 2 but your settings will all depend on your sound system and you personal listening pref and the type of music you tend to listen to.
  24. I just want to know where the info comes from about the cams, b/c it pops up speed cams all over the place where i live BUT they dont use speed cams around here, They do have traffic cams on the hiways BUt those are not there to catch peeps speeding, they are there to watch for wrecks, traffic jams, or to help look for vehicles involved in amber alerts.
  25. well, there are 2 diff versions of the Peswips, the older one does nothing with bluetooth, the newer one is supposed to have added it, there is a thread about the newer one here and what to look for when buying the unit to check if its an older one or newer one.
