  1. That is great news, thanks! The mute defaults is mainly annoying since I listen to audio books from my ipod, and when it starts up, and the book resumes, then the GPS starts talking over it. Then I have to wait and rewind to find what I missed. How does tripcomputer run? seperate exe or .dll?
  2. Not really, but I did it by accident today! I was putzing around in control panel, and filled out the "Owner" applet. I checked the "Show on startup" box, and rebooted. It was kinda neat powering up with the clock and my name. Too bad you couldn't skin that window, it might be something to work with.
  3. I just updated to Diaftia's Hybrid mods V2.3 - UPDATED: 01/14/10 and put the 3 files for nag screen removal on mine today. I went on a couple mile trip to drop off a tire to get a leak fixed, and when I drove home the damn trip computer was working! First time in MONTHS I saw it working. I tried 4 more times later today and never got it working again. When I did the updates, I deleted everything except favorites from the user\saves folder.
  4. I just updated to this version today from the September 2009 version. I am very pleased. Some of my original gripes have been corrected, and overall much nicer with some new features. I am also looking forward to 3.0! My feature request would be these. (If any of these are possible now, feel free to correct me) 1) mapchanger 2) ability to have the voice default to muted, or at least remember setting after restarting the car 3) functional trip computer I'm not complaining at all, very well done, thanks!
  5. I tried it out this morning, looks like it works fine so far. I played with the debug screen, that is what I have been looking for, THANKS! Does anyone know if the "Caution: Screen image may be reversed" can be removed when viewing rear camera? I imagine, the text can just be replaced with spaces once found.
  6. I found a referance to the Debug, but I don't know what it is. I searched and could not find the details.
  7. I'm bumping this, I wish it worked on mine as well. It worked maybe 1 out of 20 times I checked. When it worked it looked very promising.
  8. Thanks! I skimmed the warning skip thread, I missed the debug mode part. I'll look deeper today. I should be able to do small mods myself it I find the time and patience. I have some programming experience, and I can understand most of what I read that others have done when I read through them line by line, but to figure it out from scratch, UGH!
  9. Thanks for the reply! The map options look like what I am looking for. I figured they won't all fit. I rarely leave SW PA, and if I go farther, I will be in my other vehicle. I will pare it down to eastern states, and maybe Canada, since we go to the Niagara Falls area every now and then. I need to find out one that has a nice 3D view, I have not been pleased with it compared to my Garmin.
  10. Seriously, I am trying to catch up on 6 months of posts, and want a good starting point to redo it. I am also interested in using alternate maps. I have a Garmin and it's maps have speed limits on more roads in my area, I think I read that one mod lets you choose which mapset, is that correct?
  11. I have a F90BT with X910BT firmware. I currently have version 3.010100 and Map version 2.000400 I have Datfia's "Keeper, NSEW, IDT, Carver and Boris’ mods all put in one package by DIAFTIA." Installed from maybe last August/September. I attached my current map view. I have not liked the 3d view since I put that mod on, and can't seem to get it how I would like it. I want to start over with factory setup. The mods I REALLY use are the 1) mute nav directions (A must have!) 2) delete route I really like the onscreen speed and altitude, and if possible a way to switch to windows desktop
  12. When at the screen to select FM/AM/IPOD... select the camera at the top.
  13. I need to take better pictures under better lighting so I don't get that horrible glare from the AVIC. Actually that is one complaint I have about it, it IS way too shiny.
  14. I used the PAC SW1. I used preset for preset + and mode for mode/input.
  15. Yes the radio itself has no display on it. The display unit at the top of the day has 3 lines One line is various trip functions, the other line is clock day date and the bottom line is radio. there was a back of about 8 dip switches on the back. I already have the mod in so the head unit will display a DVD ro whatever, but it is kinda low for the kids in the back to see it. I used it on a trip and I was able to totally ignore it when driving. If you have analog clock and premium radio, you will have no display . And yes the scangauge has all functinos most trip computers can do. Pl
  16. The F90BT fits OK, the only problem I had was stuffing the TONS of wiring under and behind it. Maybe if you tore more apart, you could get behind/under it and pull more wiring down as someone inserted the radio. I actually removed 3 of the RCA audio jack pairs from one of the connectors just so there is less to cram in. I carefully removed the pins from the connector so they can be reinserted if needed later.there is plenty of free space up above for accessories. I put the HD radio receiver behind the display in question. I mounted the GPS antenna under the trianglular dash piece behind
  17. kiatechinfo has all the diagrams I have been over them pretty good putting mine in. I think it is a bus signal that goes from the radio to the display, not a simple "Hey Im on" since it displays the track info and radio station... I have a scangauge II in my Amanti which shows all that info except ambient temp, so I was thinking of putting in the base Amanti analoge clock. There was a display on ebay recently. I actually thougth about buying it to hack up to disable the bottomline. I have also considered putting a seperate 5" display screen there for movie playback.
  18. No not yet. THere is a set of dip switches that don't seem to affect it on the back of it.
  19. Well at least we still have a little over 900 years...
  20. I know what to do, not how to do it. I don't feel like running extra wiring up into my trunk lid unless I can get it to go through the factory weatherproof flexible rubber conduit.
  21. there is a video wire which you need to run al the way to the head unit, typically behind back seat, under carpet, through console... then there are the power wires. If your backup lights are on the trunk like the license plate, tap power from them, so when it reverse the camera is powered. otherwise you will neet to run them from trunk lid to main body. That is where I am stuck. I want to power the camera whenever the car is on, so I cu enable it even when driving or parked.
  22. I would say not. I chose mine based on mount. I searched dozens of different ones based soley on external appearance. I would bet that they all have about the same video quality, and I wasn't too concerned about that. The audiovox one is all metal with metal license plate frame. It does not have illumination leds, but since it is mainly used for bumper-bumper, the backup lights work great. It also has a microphone which I am not using. I might remove it again and paint it to match the car. I think it would work well, and might look even a bit better.I did have to drill a fairly larg
  23. I just about finalized my F90BT install. I put an antenna splitter in, so the FM works along with the HD radio. I added the PAC SWI for steering wheel controls, and we actually impressed how versitile it was. My car only has 4 buttons for audio, Preset Vol Up Vol Down Mode And it is much nicer using those, especially to switch stations without leaving the map screen. I also added an Audiovox Rear Camera license plate frame. Retail is $100, I got it from ebay as a Refurb, (poorly repackaged, I guess a customer return). It was $50, and I made offer of $42 and got it. I have everyth
