  1. Just to give you an update my unit still works just fine after the steps I took about a month or 2 ago.
  2. I fixed mine 4 weeks ago and haven't had any trouble maybe this will help. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=24921 I just came back from a 16 hour round trip vacation and it didn't act up at all i would suggest anyone having this issue to try what i did before dealing with pioneer.
  3. nene i had the same issue pulled my radio out (with it playing iPod) wiggled the pioneer ipod cable where it connects to the f-series rca plugs and it started working, i then electrical tapped the male an female RCA plugs together. it was connected properly it just seems as though the pioneer ipod cable actually is crap. I did this about 2 to 3 weeks ago, and posted my solution in another post and i haven't had any trouble since. I actually just returned from a 16 hour round trip vacation and it didn't act up at all. Before i messed with the cables i couldn't go more than a song without the r
  4. you cannot unplug those because that is how the audio from the iPod plays through the unit. its not just for video. The USB is only for controlling and charging the iPod. Im not sure why unpluggin the USB works but it does. My next step in solving this problem, if it does happen to come back, is to cut the ends off the RCA's and solder the pioneer iPod RCA cables to the F series RCA input cables. That should completly eliminate the poorly constructed RCA problem.
  5. I had the exact same problem and fixed it. A temp fix is to unplug the usb plug for about 5 seconds and then plug it back in and it should return to normal but it might not be for very long sometimes a day sometimes 10 min. The Problem is the iPod RCA connectors. I pulled my radio out after getting tired of unplugging the usb plug constantly. I fiddled around with the RCA connectors while the radio was on and playing the iPod and all of a sudden the speaker started working again. I then wrapped the RCA plugs with electrical tape to keep them tight together and its been about 3 weeks now and I
  6. I took my truck for about a two hour drive and did some other short traveling over the past week and my ipod never gave me any trouble. If I were any of you still having the same problem you should try what I did in the previous post and see if it helps solve your problem.
  7. Problem Found, Possibly SOLVED. After reading everyones post about the RCA harness being faulty and/or the ipod harness being crap. I decided to pull the radio out and do some wiggling. I turned the radio on and switched the source to iPod. The right channel was significantly lower/distorted than the left channel. I then pulled the radio out and started pushing and pulling on the wires on the RCA plug harness that goes into the back of the radio nothing changed at all. I then decided to switch the right and left RCAs from the ipod cable to see if the left speakers went out. As soon as i twist
  8. Has anyone who has had this problem solved it? I have basically quit using my ipod. which sucks cause that was one of the main features i was interested in.
  9. There is a way to this. I have the same truck 09 tacoma dbl cab. if you search the Tacoma forums you will find your answer. I am not able to do that right now i don't have time. but i have seen a write up on this. If you have any other questions about the tacoma install let me know I have done the research and might have an answer. When i get the chance i will try to find it again.
  10. you can check this thread it might help http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=23993
  11. Update... My right channel started playing low/distorted while listening to my ipod again the other day so i changed the balance to the right. I wiggled the usb plug and the plug in the bottom of the ipod to make sure it wan't a loose connection and nothing happened it was still playing low/distorted. i then unplugged the USB for about 10 sec. plugged it back in and the right channel was louder and not distorted. It seems as though it some sort of driver issue with the f900. doesn't seem as though its a loose connection. Just thought it might help some one.
  12. Does your iPod function properly when it is not connected to the radio. (i.e. can you put headphones in the headphone jack and play music or hook the ipod up to an audio connector through the bottom plug and play music?) the symptoms your describing sounds like a driver issue on the headunit. I had a problem with my computer when i tried hooking my iPhone up to it it wouldnt recognize it. So i deleted the driver and reinstalled it. Not exactly sure how you could do that with the headunit though but i would assume the same theory. possibly reseting the unit completly could help or reinstallling
  13. I read that post. but this was not acting like a loose connection i wiggled and jiggled and even plugged in a different iPod a loose connection was the first thing i assumed. we will see if it comes back again.
  14. I was able to get mine to work again! Not sure what i actually did that solved the problem though.i first tried to reset the system VIA the reset button on the front of the unit. No luck with that. I switched the av1 input from iPod to Video which means i was only using the composite inputs not the usb input (which is only used to control the ipod and charge it) and I still had an issue with the right speakers sounding low and distorted. I then tried to do a Hard reset by holding the eject button and the reset button for 5 sec. It didn't seem to do anything different than a normal reset though
  15. I am having the same issues now. everything worked great for the past 2 months. Im using a 30 gb ipod. The right channel is low and distorted. Every other sources seems to play fine. Im not using an amp I plugged my iPhone in to make sure it wasn't the iPod giving me trouble and it did the same thing. So i know its not the iPod. Tried reseting using the reset button but it did not help. I was prepaired to take the unit out thinking it was something i did during install but now i might try to reinstall firmware. Hopefully someone has solved this problem and could give us some insite. Hopefully
