  1. Hi everyone, Not sure if that's the right section of the forum to ask but I just would like to find out one thing. My unit had an 2.0 update already installed when I bought it. Recently I installed another update (it was EU one) but now I would like to bring the unit to its original state (US 2.0). I copied all the files from My Flash Disk when I first got the unit, so if I enter testmode and delete all the files from My Flash Disk and then copy all the files back when I got the unit - would that make my unit like I first got it, which was firmware 2.0? Any info is much apprecia
  2. Before you change anything on your unit it is highly recommended to back up the flash disk. You can do it by copying all the contents you can find in "My Flash Disk" to the SD card (has to be 2gb) or USB stick if you have one. Just select all items inside My Flash Disk, click edit/copy, navigate to your SD card or USB stick (create new folder there) and edit/paste. After a while when its done you can copy the apple theme aka image.res you downloaded to My Flash Disk/APL and you're done. HTH, Stan
  3. Hi folks, When trying to make or receive a call through my f900bt I can only hear the person who rings or I'm calling for a moment and then it all goes silent. It happened few times to me today . I had to turn off bluetooth on my phone and make a call normal way. It worked fine before. Any ideas? I installed an EU update on the US unit if that makes any difference. If that's the troublemaker is there a way to bring back the unit to 2.0? EDIT: Also forgot to add that the unit freezes from time to time when I finish the call which is very annoying and eventually goes back to normal
  4. Success!!! Now I know how to change the voices. I'll create a guide for anyone interested in doing the same. They work perfect. Awesome stuff! Stan
  5. Savage stuff!!! Fair Play I'm going to load it and give it a bash first thing tomorrow. Thumbs up from me!!!
  6. Got it, I noticed that today Thanks a lot, stm
  7. I was trying to set the clock in the f900bt but it only allows me to skip by hour up or hour down. Is there a way to set it exactly the way I wanted (hour+minutes)? I couldn't find any info in the manual Its a US unit by the way. Thank You, Stan
  8. What unit model do you have? It shouldn't install or anything. You just go to test mode and copy the germany.fbl to the map folder.license to license folder, germany poi to poi folder and germany.3dl to building folder. Also you need ezrider.exe file and overwrite the original one in iGo folder. Remember to back up anything you gonna change before you proceed. I didn't hear or read about any installing required, but I might be wrong here. Stan
  9. Bigdaddy, I will load maps for DE later today and if they work I'll send you ready file stm
  10. Hi folks, When I was testing my images in Windows mobile emulator I noticed when I go to system settings language that it shows European languages instead the ones loaded on US unit. My unit is US and Im emulating my own flash disk. Did anyone else notice that? Regards, stm
  11. Could someone please post a guide how to do the update please? Cheers
  12. Ok I managed to change the language from US English to UK english by simply copying the audio folder from UK English to US English and zipped it back with 7zip. I didnt have much luck when I tried the same with switching French to Polish the same way. I also noticed that when you delete any of pre-installed languages the unit will reinstall them from somewhere Would anyone know how to do it properly? Cheers
  13. Hey Rob, My unit is US version as well and the navi works fine in Ireland. The DVD in the unit is Region 1 so it wont play any other region unless your DVD discs are region free. The brake wire has to be grounded together with mute wire (in order to watch videos while in motion etc.)+ the mute wire has to be switched from its current location in the plug to different one --->http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17013 or you could mess with the files but I chose the first option. My radio doesnt work properly I'm new to all this as well and I'm slowly getting a grip with
  14. Would that work on F900BT? I would like to change US English to UK English. Cheers stm
  15. It seems that I cant input anything as the middle in the main screen between phone and settings buttons (like a logo or text etc.) Its just not showing up as anything. Is there a size guide for it or something? The original one is about 85KB and my modified is 135KB in size. Hmmm, any thoughts on that lads? EDIT: Got it working, had to save it as 16bit bmp Cheers, Stan
  16. Great stuff Brian, I'm going to get mine done tomorrow as well, so far I only loaded Irish and UK maps on it, and I'm working on my own theme . I will copy the data.zip from my unit and play tiny bit with it. Stan
  17. Hi everyone, I have no need to keep the US/Canada maps/poi/etc. on my unit due to me living in Europe. To remove the original maps that came in the unit is it the same as putting the new ones via APL2/igo/map(poi,building)? Or is there anything else I need to copy? Can I remove the license file that came with the unit as well or should I keep it there? (I already uploaded the maps for Ireland with different license file and they work ok) I just dont want to mess up anything Thanks in advance, Stan
  18. Thanks Brian, Now I wonder what would happen if I replace my line with yours Will check it tomorrow and report back . Stan
  19. Is the above line from US or EU model? If someone with the EU unit could post exact same line we could perhaps compare them and try to change them. Would that be possible?
  20. Nice one tacomaboy, I used that cable with my previous VW navi unit so that will save me few bob
  21. Hi everyone, Is it possible to use the genuine apple compostie a/v cable with f900bt instead of the Pioneer one and still have ipod controls etc.? Thanks, stm
  22. Hi 1loudls, Thanks for the info, I appreciate it a lot. I actually rang Pioneer USA today just to clarify things and they told me that the actual mounting kit is an optional item, so I bought one today on eBay. And as you said about the cars that some of them need the cage mine will be one of them as it is VW. I already hooked up VW iso plug to the other end of the loose cables so the only thing left is to mount the equipment in my car, which I cant wait to do. So now I have to wait patiently for my mounting kit and Im off to the garage! Cheers, stm
  23. Hi folks, I just got my f900bt unit from the US, and the mounting bracket or the fascia wasn't in the package. Could anyone tell me if thats the case with all units or mine was robbed? I got the unit, screws, gps aerial, a/v lead, power lead without any connector on the other end, cd manual, booklets, mic. Cheers, stm
  24. Thanks for the heads up Brian and all your help too . stm
