  1. Had the same problem with my axxess steering wheel control module. 2010 Subaru WRX AVIC-Z140BH Not sure on the Avalance specific install, but... I would check the vehicle specific install manual from axxess's web site and check if everything is wired right. If they are... I used mine right when I turned it on for the first time, apparentally your not suppose to use the steering wheel controls for at least 30 seconds wile it auto-programs. Found that out the hard way, it messed up the mute (ATT) functions. I didn't want to manually program it, so I swapped it out with a ne
  2. I fixed my rattle problem by addind a strip of foam to the bottom of the screen with some double sided tape. It worked great for me. I have it in my FJ Cruiser and it has a lip on the radio hole that the foam sits on. I don't know if this mod will work for everyone (depends on you install). I have the screen tilted usually "3 clicks" and you can't see the foam when tilted only whey opened. The foam I used was off white and I used a marker to black it out, I'm going to replace it soon with some black foam I found. The current foam strip is getting a little beat up. 3. I installed ND-BT1 for my Z1 (updated to Z3). I got it paired with my phone (Casio G'z One Bolulder) and my wife's phone (Blackberry Storm) on the first try and even uploaded both of our phone books without any problems. The calls are loud and clear on both ends (I had to relocate my mic). But, I am not getting a ring through the car speakers with either phone. I even turned the ringer volume all the way upon on the headunit and still nothing. Anybody have any ideas?
  4. I just installed a universal rear view camera (JVC KV-CM1) for my AVIC-Z1 head unit. My local stereo shop had a great Memorial Day sale and I got it for next to nothing. The camera has a power (ignition 12V) wire, a ground wire, and a video out (RCA) wire. I was an easy install. My question is: I tapped the head unit's ignition power and ground for the camera. Do you think I will get a better picture if I run a independent power and ground for the camera? I'm not sure if the camera is getting a full 12 volts or my Z1 is getting a full 12 volts either now. I don't have a volt m

  7. I just got a Toshiba MK8032GAX updated with the AVIC-Z3 software. Love the Z3 update! My question is, it is not an automotive grade hard drive am I going to have problems. I live in Montana and it get really cold here and my AVIC-Z1 is installed my FJ Cruiser and I go off road all the time. Thanks for your help.
  8. I have a 2007 FJ with 8 speakers, AVIC-Z1. My rear speakers are very quiet also even when faded all the way back. They were the same before I put in the AVIC-Z1.
  9. Fixed it! Did the bluetooth update, took out the TR-7, did the two wire bypass and hooked up the illumination wire. All better now, totally unlock and working great. Thanks for you help.
  10. Please help. I'm new to this forum and love all the info on it. I have my Z1 installed with a TR-7 module for the bypass, and I updated the firmware to stop the freezing. Now I'm locked out the nav and dvd functions even if I engage the e-brake. The Z1 says off of the e-brake no matter what I do. How do I fix this?
