Vblue once again, are you saying this is the GPs aeriel or the actual radio unit ?

Think I may have found a solution, or at least a partial solution, I changed the language, then changed back to English, this forced it to reload the software, since then it has been much better, only losing briefly for a few minutes, have not used the car much since doing this, will do approx 250 miles at the weekend so will test out then.

GTnumber2, tried your suggestion, and it seemed to work, but a few minutes later I am back in Paris again. I am also getting an onscreen message saying it is updating (from where I don't know) occassionally which normally fails, but when it works still no different. I am starting to think the actually unit head unit is dying.

Well, I am now back in Paris! after working for a couple of days, I thought it was working, but it has now gone back to saying i'm in paris, so looks like the unit itself, is there any way of re-flashing/updating the software or is the sat nav side effectively dead?

Replacement gps receiver came today (less than a week from China - very impressed) fitted this morning, seems ok, will try on a trip tonight, if this has sorted it, I will be very happy as it was only £8.30 as well!

Thanks vblue, that's what I was hoping, I have already ordered a replacement from thiefbay, so hopefully that will resolve, although I reset the unit earlier and it has started working again..............

I've been suffering this intermittently for about a year now, I am in the UK, but map shows me in Paris, has been stuck on this for 4-5 days VBLUE42, you say 2 of your units have done this, do you mean the radio itself or just the gps aeriel?

I'm getting a similar problem, I am in the uk, and on a 250 mile trip yesterday, about 6 times it stopped working, saying I was in Paris! it came back after about 5 minutes, also a couple of times whilst I was on the phone, the screen went completely blank. Is this the same issue as yours?

Yesterday, on a 250 mile trip, the sat nav told me I was in paris 6-7 times, after 5 minutes or so it came back, when checking the signal, I seemed to have lost reception, a couple of times whilst on the phone, the screen also went blank. Is it just the sat receiver loosing connection, or is this the unit itself dying?

Today, just before my exit junction on the M25 on the way to my sisters 40th, mt sat nav started telling me I was in Paris, checking the connections screen in settings, showed as still connected and receiving but would not move location (although the map was moving, presumably as a result of the gyro and speed sensor), I checked all the wiring which seemed ok, and as a last resort reset the unit , and it worked ! is this just a one off glitch, or a sign of impending doom?

I have a problem with my connection, I have had to reset my phone, so deleted the paired phone and repaired, whilst pairing its keeps saying connecting error, as soon as I finish pairing on the phone it says invalid device, but the bluetooth audio connects and works (which I don't think it did previously) I have tried deleting the pair from the phone and re-pairing but no change, I can connect another phone so the system works, could the problem be the system is confused in some way as the phone was previously paired? I am reluctant to re-set the bluetooth control box, as that entails dismante
