    Chuck I have bought another Avic for car use(The F900 is in my RV)I want to put your mods onto it but it's only firmware V1.000,Can you answer these questions please. Do you now how I can update the firmware on the 500 to V3 Or If I buy from Pioneer the latest maps which come with the latest firmware,will I then be able to add your mods as I do on my 900? I have updated a couple of F900 firmwares but the buttons are different on the 500 ie the reset button is on the back and there is no eject button.Would really appreciate any tips on getting the 500 hackable,as I am reluctant to just

    Hi.Just bought a brand new Avic F500BT from Amazon UK.Comes with V 1.0000 software and V1.000 maps!Obviously I want to update to V3 firmware so I can "play"like I do with my F900BT which is fitted in my RV.Could anyone please tell me if it is possible to update to V3 without goung to pioneer and spending £150.00 on a new 2011 map(which is already installed on my F900)Also if I do go down the official route will I then be able to Hack my unit and install mods?I really dont want to brick my 500 so if the only way is the Pioneer way then so be it,but i've got to be able to hack it in the end!Tha

    Hi Chuck,its ovalball here.Ive tried sending you a PM but no luck.Please accept my opologies for posting in the general area!I have just bought a brand new F500BT off Ebay and the firmware is 1.****I want to start modding it but can you tell me if i need to update the firmware first?It is such a long time since I bought my 900BT I have forgotten what I had to change to enable me to start installing mods!I cannot find a working link to enable me to update to V3 or V4.Pioneer have been no help and I can only get an official update to 2.07 which I dont think will be any help.I updated my F900BT t

    I have been trying to use the Dinka skin with Primo but it keeps freezing.Can anyone who has tried it had any more success than I have?I have tried a few changes to sys.txt(Thanks Chuck!)but still no joy.I really like all the features like screen saver etc and would love to get it going consistently .All suggestions welcome!

    Sorry if this is already known.To load your own points of interest into primo(or IGO) please do the following. Create a folder inside your CONTENTS folder and call it userdata.Inside this folder create another one called POI.Inside this folder put your poi sets in the kml(google earth)format.When you reboot you can search for places and all your newly installed sets of POI'S will be there.I am still trying to figure out how to load your own icons to suit.Should have news on that soon.

    Hi Chuck Do you know if it's possible to add a different version of Primo just by installing a different data.zip?There seems a lot of versions out there,some with better UI than others.I have just bought a cheap unit off EBay which is running Primo but I would like to use the version you packaged with your mod,the one I am using in my RV.

    Just returned after a tour of France in my RV,where I have constantly "played"with my Avic,installing most of the mods and seeing how they go.Got to say I really like the Primo version which was packaged up with Chucks mod,although I have been running it alondside the Stan/Andr mod.The Primo allows me to input the sizes of my RV and then routes me along roads which are suitable,not farm tracks which sometimes has been the case previously.Apart from the sound issue,I have had the Primo freeze on several occasions which has meant I have had to reboot to get it going again.Has anyone any fixes pl

    I think the only way tobe sure is to try them all.Even now I often revert back to various mods which I haven't run for a while.I do have a favorite but they all seem to offer different things.What ive got now is a collection of SD cards,each with a full back up of MFD and the mods installed on them.It takes less than an hour to swap and theres less chance of messing up!

    Your maps are installed on your flash disc,not on your SD card.The sound issue with Primo 2 is a bit of a pain and I hoped someone had cracked it by now!You can use Primo 1 with any sound source but I don't think it's as good as P2.

    Well it let's you use Pimo for a start,which in my opinion is better than stock Igo.

    Pat According to a fellow forum member motorscript.exe is missing from the download.Dont know how but that's the problem.I have copied his pm for you to read. Tried primo, but it comes back with an error..... I see 'patper' has already discovered the same thing, looking at your thread. Anyway, after a bit of investigation it seems the "mortscript.exe" file is missing from the download. After I added it to the IGO directory it worked o.k. Thought you might like to reply to 'petper' rather than me.......... Thanks, Dave. Many thanks Dave.

    If you look at the main completed mods section,you will see under Stan/Andr mod with primo,I have put a link to a fully working flash drive.This would at least get you going again.

    https://rapidshare.c..._Flash_Disk.rar After a few failed attempts I have finally got my full flash drive to upload onto RapidShare.This is a complete copy of MFD which I am presently using.Its base mod is Stan/Andr2000 but with the ability to launch primo 2 from the main menu(Thanks ryar!)I am running it on a F900bt and apart from known issues with sound,has run very well.I am not a modder,just an enthusiastic user so I cannot offer back up,should you decide to install it.All I can say is it works fine on mine!!
