maps are not free either. 3.0 is far better than 2.0 and is in my opinion worth the $$ to upgrade to. If you are feeling brave, search around and you can find a way to install the "unnofficial 3.0" but if you dont know what your doing, you can have a hapless avic real quick...your call

a little confused here...so everything works as it should except no sound when truck is running? When truck is off, everything works as it should including sound?

Just curious to what your takes are on the diffidence from 3.0 to 3.01? I know there is a performance difference from 2.0, but did anyone notice an improvement after going to 3.01?

he has already deleted the gpspar files with no results! My guess is a windows file got corrupt and will need to reinstall windows ce.

Its not a big deal...It just takes a bit longer to load i think. Either way, I can live with it!

after applying this mod and getting it to work this time, it is very nice! Alot of options that should have been on here from the get go. I do however have a question...My 700bt now loads directly to navigation and not to the top menu like it used to. Is this normal and how can I change it back to go to "Top Menu" first? here are the steps I have just taken 1 updated the wince image by using the service menu and selecting format sd/usb. 2 updated with the pioneer 2.06 image from their website 3 ran the 2.06 pioneer update 4 booted to testmode and formated the flash disk and copied over my 2.0 backup - in progress next I will update to 3.01 with my pioneer update SD cards. Does this sound like a go? I sure hope so

i didnt update to 3.0, but used my pioneer 3.01 update and same results.

I have tried 3 different back up copies. my 3.0 backup, my 2.0 backup and a virgin 2.0 backup. I am fairly certain this is a windows ce issue. I need to format the wndows ce install and install a new image is my guess. Its the only thing left that I havent tried. I will let ya know how it goes!

I cant get into service mode. Keeps telling me to hit reset again?!?

I am moving this to the approprate forum. I attempted to put Diaftias mod on my F700BT. Folowed the instructions and all seemed well. Went to reboot and what do you know, the infamous "system is loading..please wait" screen. I said OK, So I erased everything on Myflashdisk and restored the files from my backup. All good I thought...went to reboot, same problem "system is loading..please wait" screen and then continued reboots. Now I am a bit nervous....Proceed to erase Myflashdisk again and restored my 2.0 backup files. Reboot and same thing, "system is loading..please wait" screen.

went ahead and deleted all of "myflashdisk" again, restored to my 2.0 backup. Same thing, gets to sytem starting please wait...I am out of ideas....

Tried installing the mod and I thought everything was good. Followed directions and double checked. Now when I boot up I get the System Starting. Please Wait screen and it never goes away. Now I restored my "myflashdisk" back with my backup files and still stuck on the system starting... please wait screen....this kinda sucks...

anyone confirm the pioneer marine remote also changes presets?
