  1. I searched the FAQ for "chime", "tone", and "shortcut" and came up with nothing. I'm on version 2.x. How can I turn off that annoying chime that rings every time I push a button? Can I setup shortcut buttons to go straight to EQ Customization from the Ipod or FM radio page?
  2. I HATE HATE HATE the tone/beep every time I press a button. Especially since it takes so many button pushes to go back & for the between the equalizer and source material. How can I mute that stupid tone? Bonus question: is there a way to program a shortcut button to go straight to the EQ customization from say the ipod page? menu - settings - av sound - ez - customize...ugh 5 damn buttons just to get to my EQ. Then 3-4 more to get back were I was before.
  3. The most annoying thing is that I frequently bump the bass & treble in my equalizer. But for any given source, it takes a handful of (laggy and sometimes ignored) button pushes to get to the customize equalizer page. Tell me there's a shortcut for this. Please.
  4. Every time I turn on my AVIC-F700BT with the ipod attached and I select the ipod as an iput source, the avic says "updating VR database". The ipod plays, but the avic won't let me control it in any way until the vr (voice recognition, I think) database is updated. THIS TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES!!! What the heck - every time I turn my radio on I have to wait several minutes to control the ipod?
  5. WOW!! All my contacts just showed up on my 700BT. The Epix never gave any indication that it was transferring my contacts. In fact, it sat there forever on lots of attempts I made to search for a bluetooth device to beam the contacts to. Now I said the Epix was behaving really really slowly every time I pulled up my contacts on the Epix. So now I'm guessing there's some kind of sync thing going on that transfers all the contacts every time you pull up the list. It takes a long time to finish. So anyway, eventually all my contacts just magically showed up on my 700BT. Now on to
  6. I'm trying this out right now. Currently: I can get a bluetooth connection and make a call using the phone pad on the F700. That works fine. Can't transfer contacts. First and foremost, I've noticed that the Epix is INCREDIBLY SLOW while its got a bluetooth connection to the F700. I assume this is because it is making itself busy sending constant battery life indicator & signal strength information. But that's just a guess. If I try to beam a contact, the phone goes to step where you pick a bluetooth device to send to - but the F700 isn't listed (even though its already con
  7. LOL, sure does. "unneccessary" is a bit of an understatement. Not only isn't it neccessary, its impossible!
  8. Just got a AVIC-700BT. The box says updated for 2.0. The install manual shows a pink wire for the vss speed sensor connection - BUT....there is no pink wire. The power connector harness that came with it (the one with batt, acc, illum, speakers) has no pink wire. There's an empty pin in that harness, so I assume that's where it used to go. The box also came with no long pink wire to run from the harness to wherever I was gonna get a VSS pin. What's up with this?
  9. Is there going to be an aftermarket for the 3.0 upgrade? Will avic owners be able to sell each other their 3.0 SD cards?
  10. More suppliers showing on up Froogle - http://www.google.com/products?q=avic-x710bt None with decent prices.
  11. Are the new units going to have a decent screen for Sirius? I understand the older units had the unthinkable quality of only displaying one line of info at a time for Sirius broadcasts.
  12. Here's our first clue on street pricing. onlinecarstereo which is selling AVIC-F700BT's for $539 is showing a AVIC-X710BT for $789. OUCH!! I have a feeling I might be ordering a F700.
  13. says... I'm seeing prices all over the map. Crutchfield pre-order for X7 is $900. This place - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/ has the X7 preorder for $789 ($250 more than the F7 - ouch). Pioneer says $1,000 for the X7. Man, I hope I can reel in an X7 for $400-500.
  14. I am in the US. Want to buy one of these 1) new, 2) cheap, and 3) from some place that won't rip me off. I see sonicelectronix has been used successfully by people here and other places. But they're out of stock This place claims to have on in stock, but I've not found comments from anyone saying they've used this place - http://www.caraudiobuy.com/products/Pio ... 700BT.html Not sure what to think of them. Many places are out of stock. I take it nobody will get new stock, since the F700BT is being replaces by the X710BT. I hope the online prices for the X710BT are just as good as
