  1. Thanks guys... And you're SURE the station/channel name,s song/artist titles will still show up? Mode/category selection still there, etc?
  2. shoman... Thanks for the reply. So...song titles and channel names display normally if the P10XMT is used in these later units? No problem switching categories, modes, listing by artist/song/channel, etc? - JD
  3. I've used a D3 with XM NavTraffic in the DC area for 18 months. It's accurate about 50% of the time at best. Like other posters, I'm sometimes sitting in a parking lot on 495 and the D3 shows the road as green, no issues. Other times, it's somewhat accurate. Generally it's not that trustworthy. Also, there are SO MANY people driving around DC and EVERYONE has a GPS system of one type or another, so everyone simply gets onto the secondary routes which then get backed up themselves. And XM NavTraffic shows NOTHING for secondary routes or surface streets. So you have no idea if Route
  4. All: Does the old GEX-P10XMT tuner work with the newer F- and brand-new X-series AVIC units, particularly the AVIC-X710BT? I've already seen posts on here indicating the XM NavTraffic won't work with these later units. That makes since, since the F- and X-series units either don't have the right data input connector and/or haven't been programmed to even use the XM NavTraffic feature of the older XM unit. However, I need to know if the regular XM radio functionality from the P10XMT work with these new units. I'd rather not have to go out and buy a new XM tuner! Any definitive r
  5. @ scrupul()us... I had a Palm Pre for a month and tried using it with the D3 and the BTB200. It mostly did NOT work correctly. What worked: - Pre did the basic connection to the D3/BTB200 combo (after some trial and error) and did pass the name of the phone (e.g., "John's Phone") to the D3/BTB - Directly-dialing a number with the D3 touch screen worked for basic calling What didn't work: - There is currently NO WAY to transfer contacts from the Pre to the D3/BTB200 since the Pre does not support PUSHING of contacts via Bluetooth (i.e., the Pre does not currently support the O

  7. Actually, Stigy, not quite correct. The Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) allows a head unit to go into a cell phone and PULL the entire phone book from it. Unfortunately, the D3 (with a BTB200 Bluetooth unit) does NOT support PBAP at all...period. So, to get phone book contacts INTO a D3 with Bluetooth, one needs a cell phone that supports the Bluetooth Object Push Profile (OPP) and OBEX protocols. It's THESE two Bluetooth profiles/protocols that allow a cell phone to PUSH phone book contacts TO the D3 with Bluetooth. By the way, neither the iPhone nor the new Palm Pre c

  9. I have had an AVIC in my 2008 Audi A4 for a year. My installer and I BOTH gave up on ever finding an adapter that allows BOTH the AM and FM leads from the car's antenna to connect. We looked at every Metra, VW, Audi, etc. antenna adapter out there and simply couldn't find one that does the trick. I decided I don't care about AM so we just connected the FM. If you ever find one that does both, let us know!
