  1. I can't speak of external hard drives and compatibility, but I do have a 16gb USB drive with mp4s and mp3s and both work fine. There is an option in the upper right of the navigation screen that allows you to switch between videos and songs. The only complaint i have is that divx files aren't supported on the SD card or USB drives. Organization is done via a folder hierarchy.
  2. I would say this unit is a big improvement on ALMOST everything over the z3 I had previously. Voices are nice, navigation is great, ipod interface is worlds above anything else out there (especially the DNX9140 i almost pulled the trigger on...loved the dual USB ports) and the boot up time on ths z110bt is super fast. I miss vehicle dynamics the most, even the simple ones found on garmin gps systems (like current speed, fastest speed attained, elevation, etc). Oh, and I wish I could play Divx files from the USB / SD cards.
  3. This has been a disapointment to me too. Even simple GPS information (like speed, elevation, etc) isn't there. Sure you can dig deep into the 3d calibration to find the vss speed, but it's a headache, and, quite frankly, useless.
  4. I finally got it to work! Turns out both my grounds were good, but the pin was not making a connection with the harness. After fighting with it for a while, I finally was able to get a good connection between the relocated mute wire and it's associated pin. Thanks again! rtonerii, you shouldn't see an error message at all if this is done correctly.
  5. I've checked all my wiring, and both the PB wire and relocated mute wire are seeing ground. Question: Does everyone have their VSS hooked up? I have noticed that If I unplug the VSS, I get no error message, however if I leave it connected, it freaks out at me as soon as I go over 5mph. Also, my PB wire and relocated Mute wire both go to different grounds...do they need to be tied together and go to the same one? I didn't think this would matter, but then again...haha
  6. After unsuccessfully trying the relay method, I have completed the above 'new' steps of moving the mute wire and grounding it with the parking brake wire. I still get the message, and have confirmed ground at both the mute lead on it's harness, and the pb lead on it's harness. Do I need to somehow reset the whole unit? I figured removing it from the car (no power) would have been sufficient.
